The National Testing Agency will conduct the CUET UG 2026 from May 11 to 31. "The registration process for DU will begin once the CUET exams begin, so hopefully we will open the portal for registration around the third week of May.
While details are still being confirmed, our primary focus, just like last year, will be on finishing the admission on time so classes can begin at the earliest." Dean of Admission, Dr Haneet Gandhi told PTI. The university will try to shorten the allocation period, even if one or two days are adjusted each round, the dean also mentioned.

The Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) conducts admission in multiple phase, these involves registration, subject mapping, preference filling, seat allotment and more.
CSAS registration: In this stage, students enter their academic and personal details in the DU CSAS portal and submit their DU application form.
Subject mapping: In this stage, students choose the subjects they have opted for in CUET UG exam.
Preference filling: Students enter their preferences in terms of subject, college and more.
DU seat allotment: Based on students’ preference as well as their CUET scores, the students will be allotted seats.
This year, Delhi University made it clear that students must choose CUET paper subjects that match what they studied in Class 12. The Dean of Admissions, Dr Haneet Gandhi emphasised that at least 50% similarity between Class 12 subjects and CUET subjects is required for successful subject mapping. If this alignment is missing, the student may be ineligible for certain programmes.
The University of Delhi is trying to reduce the time spent in each seat allotment round. This is to ensure the academic session starts as early as possible. The DU is planning to conduct their admission process parallel to the CUET dates. This move is a response to concerns from professors regarding previous delays in the academic cycle caused by the shift to the CUET-based system.
