JAM Eligibility Criteria 2018 – Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) has announced JAM 2018 eligibility criteria. The admissions through Joint Admission Test for M.Sc programmes (JAM) across Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore and Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) basically depend on eligibility criteria of JAM 2018 besides other factors including JAM score secured by a candidate and the corresponding JAM cut off. As per the JAM eligibility criteria, if any candidate is not eligible for JAM, he/ she can’t fill JAM application form. JAM 2018 eligibility criteria define preconditions to apply for the IIT administered Joint Admission Test. JAM eligibility criteria 2018 specifies minimum academic qualifications and marks required for each academic programmes offered at different institutes. Moreover, the candidates need to ensure that they meet eligibility criteria of JAM before they fill the application form else their JAM 2018 candidature may get cancelled at later stages of JAM admission process. It should also be noted that if any candidate fills the JAM application form without checking JAM eligibility criteria 2018, the application fee will not be refunded under any circumstances and the application will be liable for rejection. JAM Eligibility Criteria 2018
The JAM eligibility criteria notified by IIT Bombay which is the Joint Admission Test for M.Sc programmes conducting body mention some common as well as some specific criteria for each of the offered programmes in the JAM participating institutes.
JAM 2018 Eligibility Criteria– Common criterion across institutes for each programme
Candidates can find below JAM eligibility criteria which are common for each programmes across institutes for appearing in the postgraduate science admission test.
The candidates should have secured at least 55 per cent marks in aggregate of subjects including languages and subsidiaries of all the years combined. Those however belonging to SC/ST and PwD categories need to secure at least 50 per cent marks in aggregate of the subjects.
Candidates need to note that equivalence of marks in case of grades in letter/ CGPA (and not in percentage of marks) will be decided by the participating institutes of JAM.
As per the JAM eligibility criteria 2018, candidates will need to submit their proof of qualifying degree examinations by September 30, 2018 to the admitting institute. However, upon failing to do so will lead to cancellation of their candidature.
