JAM Eligibility Criteria 2020 - Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, had released the JAM 2020 eligibility criteria in on July 11, 2019. The JAM eligibility criteria 2020 include the minimum scores and/or degree that the aspirants are expected to score/acquire. The eligibility criteria of JAM 2020 helps the candidates to know if they are eligible to sit for JAM 2020 conducted by one of the participating institutes. With the help of JAM 2020 eligibility criteria, the candidates will be able to know about the minimum criteria to sit for JAM 2020. The JAM is conducted every year for candidates who wish to seek admission in M.Sc. (Two Years), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, and other Post-UG Degrees Programmes at the IITs of India and Integrated PhD Degree Programmes at IISc, Bangalore.

It is very important that the candidates go through the JAM eligibility criteria 2020 before registering for JAM 2020 and filling the JAM application form 2020.

JAM Eligibility Criteria 2020

Before going through the course-wise eligibility, the candidates must check the common eligibility required for IIT JAM 2020. This eligibility has been set up by IIT Kanpur on the basis of the candidate's category which must be fulfilled even before the JAM eligibility criteria of the courses. The category-wise eligibility criteria of JAM 2020 is given below.

JAM Eligibility Criteria 2020 - Things to Remember

  • The candidates who are Foreign nationals are also eligible to apply for JAM, along with the Indian nationals.

  • The candidates who wish to apply for different JAM 2020 programmes must make sure that they check the IIT JAM eligibility criteria 2020 before applying for admission. Different courses and programmes will have different JAM eligibility criteria 2020.

  • If the candidates’ qualifying marks are in the grade/GDPA system, then the percentage of marks will be calculated by the institute itself.

  • The candidates who will be appearing for JAM 2020 must make sure to have a Bachelor’s degree with themselves.

  • The candidates who are pursuing qualifying examination must make sure to submit proof of passing the qualifying examination/s to the institute by the last date.

In order to sit for IIT JAM exam 2020 for M. Sc. Biotechnology, a candidate must have Biology as one of the subjects in their 10+2 level and UG degree.

Yes, you can give the IIT JAM even if your final year exams are days after IIt jam exam.

It has the provision for students who are studying in the final year to apply for the exam and take it.

The criteria through which the opening and closing ranks of IIT JAM Examination are decided is as follows:-

  • Number of seats.
  • Number of students appearing in the exam
  • Difficulty level of exam
  • Previous year cutoff trends
