IIT JAM Eligibility Criteria 2024

The IIT JAM criteria vary for candidates based on their category. For candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD, the IIT JAM 2024 eligibility criteria are different. Thus, they must check their eligibility for the entrance exam based on their category and education requirements for their desired IIT JAM courses. IIT JAM 2024 is based on the subjects that candidates studied in their UG courses.

Who are eligible for IIT JAM?

Candidates who have completed their bachelor's degree from a recognised university in courses such as B.Tech/B.Sc/B.E. in a relevant field are eligibile to appear in IIT JAM entrance exam 2024. In terms of minimum age required for IIT JAM 2024, there is no age limit to appear for IIT JAM examination. Moreover, candidates who have have taken a gap after their graduation or those who are working professionals are also eligibile to apply for JAM entrance test 2024.

It is worth noting that there is no limit on the number of attempts to appear for the IIT JAM entrance examination 2024. Candidates can attempt the IIT JAM test 2024 as many times as they wish, as long as they fulfil the JAM eligibility criteria 2024.

JAM Eligibility Criteria

Categories	Common Eligibility Criteria
General/OBC	Candidates should pass the qualifying exam. In case, when a candidate is promoted in the qualifying exam without a marksheet, he/she must have the promotion certificate or another certificate or document as evidence for promotion including the names of the taken subjects and marks scored in the subjects by him/her in the semester/year. The promotion certificate or document should be signed by the head of the institute to provide evidence for the minimum educational requirements (MEQ).
SC/ST/PWD	Candidates should pass the qualifying exam. In case, when a candidate is promoted in the qualifying exam without a marksheet, he/she must have the promotion certificate or another certificate or document as evidence for promotion including the names of the taken subjects and marks scored in the subjects by him/her in the semester/year. The promotion certificate or document should be signed by the head of the institute to provide evidence for the minimum educational requirements (MEQ).
