IIT JAM Previous Year Question Papers: JAM (Joint Entrance Test for Master) is a competitive exam conducted by IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) for the admission to Postgraduate courses in 7 disciplines (Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Economics, Geology and Mathematical Statistics) in around 22 IITs for around 3000 seats and 2300 seats by IISC (Indian Institute of Science) and other CIFTs. Section-Wise Distribution of Questions: IIT JAM has three sections with a total of 60 questions for 100 marks. Section A contains 30 questions in total while Section B contains 10 questions and Section C contains 20.

Negative Marking in IIT JAM: Knowing about the negative marking scheme can help reduce negative scores.
Section A: For each 1 mark question, ⅓ marks will be deducted while for each 2 marks question, ⅔ marks will be deducted for the incorrect answers. No negative marking for the unanswered questions.
Section B: Neither negative marking nor partial marking will be given for this section.
Section C: No negative marking will be given.

For the IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc.) exam, you need to provide a Central EWS (Economically Weaker Section) certificate.
The IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology) and other central institutions require a central format of the EWS certificate issued by a competent authority as per the guidelines set by the Government of India. State EWS certificates are generally not accepted unless explicitly specified in the application guidelines.
Make sure that your EWS certificate is up-to-date and issued by the designated authority, such as a Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), Tehsildar, or similar, as prescribed by the central government.
