If candidates have OTP, they can select the “Already have an OTP” option. In this case, they need to enter the enrolment ID, OTP, and new password and confirm the password.
If a JAM applicant forgets his/her enrolment ID, he/she can retrieve it with the help of an SMS. They should consider the following steps to retrieve the JAM enrolment ID:
Step 1: Go to the JOAPS portal.
Step 2: A login window will appear on the screen.
Step 3: Click on the “Forget Enrolment ID or Password” button.
Step 4: Click on the “Forget Enrolment ID” button.
Step 5: Enter your registered mobile number.
Step 6: The enrolment ID will be sent to your registered mobile number through SMS.
Before appearing for the IIT JAM exam, candidates must read the instructions mentioned on their admit card carefully.
Aspirants must carry their JAM 2026 admit card and a valid photo ID to the allotted test centre. Candidates should carry valid photo IDs, including a college ID, employer ID, PAN card, driving licence, passport, voter ID, and Aadhaar.
Students are advised to take the printout of their JAM hall ticket 2026 on A4-size paper using a colour laser printer and ensure that their signature and photograph are clearly visible.
It is recommended to visit or locate the IIT JAM exam centre a day prior to the exam.

During the exam, a virtual scientific calculator will be provided on the computer screen, and no personal calculators, mobile phones, watches, or any other electronic devices are allowed.
Aspirants should not carry any charts, tables, or papers to the JAM exam hall and can use the scribble pad provided by the invigilator for rough work.
The scribble pad should be marked with the candidate's name and registration number before use and must be returned to the invigilator at the end of the exam.
