Candidates who appeared on February 11th Joint Admission Test (JAM) for M.Sc programme in IITs and IISc Bangalore will be able to check JAM 2018 result online. The JAM result 2018 specifies qualifying status, marks and qualifying marks of candidates who appear in IIT Bombay administered Joint Admission Test for M.Sc programme. The result of JAM 2018 also mentions rank and merit secured by the JAM test-takers. Candidates can check their JAM result 2018 online by accessing their login accounts. Candidates must make sure to check the marks secured in each of the seven papers and for every section of JAM 2018 result. How to check JAM Result 2018?

  • Click on the official link of JAM 2018 Results

  • Enter your Registration Id and password to access JAM 2018 results page.

  • Candidates who appeared for JAM 2018 exam can check their marks as well as their qualifying status in the test paper.

  • Download the JAM 2018 result sheet.

  • Note – Candidates should note that separate score card for JAM 2018 will be issued to qualified candidates which can be downloaded within the stipulated time period.

How to calculate JAM Marks 2018?

The 60 questions in the online admission test JAM 2018 are divided into two types, namely objective and short-answer type questions. Further, every question carries multiple-choice options and can be of multiple selective types. The total marks allotted to JAM 2018 are 100 against 60 questions.

 

As per JAM 2018 exam pattern, candidates who have responded to the question with the correct answer will be awarded their respective marks. Further, in case of any wrong answer, no marks will be deducted.

 

Instructions for JAM 2018 Result

  • JAM result 2018 has been announced in online mode by IIT Bombay on March 20, 2018.

  • Candidates who have qualified for the IIT Joint admission test for M.Sc. programme will be issued All India Rank (AIR) on the basis of their merit scores in the admission test.

  • For each test paper in JAM 2018, an AIR will be assigned to all the appeared candidates based on the performance.

  • If any candidate has appeared in two different papers, the JAM result will be issued for each paper with their respective AIRs and scores.

  • The Score Card (indicating the All India Ranks and the marks obtained by the candidate) will be available for download from the JAM 2018 website from March 27, 2018, to July 31, 2018, for qualified candidates.

  • Candidates securing AIRs as per JAM 2018 result will be considered qualified for admissions to the respective postgraduate programmes in IITs or IISc Bangalore.

How to break tie in JAM result 2018

There are certain cases where candidates score equal marks in JAM 2018 result. The tie-breaking criterion for awarding the ranks to candidates scoring the same aggregate marks in a test paper will be that the candidate with a higher ratio of positive marks to negative marks will be given a higher rank. If this criterion fails to break ties, the concerned candidates will be awarded the same rank.

Candidates can check the cut off of JAM 2018 which is the minimum marks required for each subject to be shortlisted for admissions to the seats offered for the M.Sc programmes in participating colleges of JAM 2018.

What after JAM Result 2018?

Candidates who are declared qualified in IIT administered Joint Admission Test for M.Sc programmes will be called in to attend the counselling of JAM 2018. For this, they need to fill admission form of their respective IITs or IISc.
