IIT Madras has announced the IIT JAM 2024 result on March 20, in online mode. Following the announcement of the IIT JAM results, the IIT JAM 2024 merit list will be released. Candidates can download the IIT JAM result merit list by visiting the IIT JAM 2024 official website. For each paper of the IIT JAM 2024, a separate merit list will be released. For IIT JAM 2024 admission to the participating institutes, only the chosen applicants whose names will appear in the IIT JAM merit list 2024 will be considered eligible.The number of seats available in various IITs and IISc determines the merit list's preparation. How’s JAM 2024 Merit List Prepared
After the JAM exam result 2024 is announced, the IIT Madras will prepare the IIT JAM merit list 2024 by considering the following factors into account.
1 mark weightage to each correct answer- 1 weightage question.
2 mark weightage to each correct answer- 2 weightage questions.
1/3rd negative marks will be deducted for every incorrect answers (of 1 marks questions)
2/3 marks negative marks will be deducted for each wrong answer (of 2 marks questions),

IIT JAM 2024 All India Rank list will be prepared on the basis of student's performance in the national level examinations.
IIT JAM Result 2024 - Tie-Breaking Criteria
After the publication of JAM 2024 results, if two or more candidates score the same scores/ranks then the IIT JAM 2024 tie-breaking formula is used. Further, the candidates will be allotted different ranks after the tie has been broken. To understand the JAM tie-breaking method read below.

IIT JAM Result Sharing Institutes 2024
IISc Bangalore and CCMN (NITs, IIEST Shibpur, SLIET and DIAT) are the two JAM result sharing institutions for 2024, and none of them offers direct admission to applicants for its M.Sc.-Ph.D. dual degree programme or its integrated PhD programmes. These two institutes provide admission to courses 1 and 4 individually based on JAM 2024 results. To get admitted to these courses offered at IIT Bombay and IISc Bangalore, applicants must complete separate application forms on the websites of these institutions. On the basis of JAM scores from 2024, IIT Bombay provides an M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree in Energy, whilst IISc Bangalore offers four integrated PhD degrees. In order to be admitted to these programmes, students do not have to participate in the JAM counselling 2024.

Yes, it is possible to appear for the IIT JAM in Biotechnology after completing a BSc. in Biotechnology (Vocational). Any candidate who have obtained a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in a relevant discipline, such as B .Tech/B.Sc/B.E., are eligible to take the IIT JAM entrance test. To appear for IIT JAM in Biotechnology, candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree with at least 55% aggregate marks from a recognized university for General category. For SC/ST the candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognized university.
