JAM Counselling 2020 - IIT Kanpur has released the schedule of JAM 2020 counselling on July 12, 2020. The process of IIT JAM 2020 counselling is conducted after candidates have filled the JAM admission form 2020. Joint Admission Test (JAM) is an annual examination held for various PG courses offered by twenty IITs and IISc. Before starting the IIT JAM 2020 counselling, IIT Kanpur releases the admission form which should be filled by the candidates as per their preferences and choices. IIT JAM Counselling is held by the conducting body of JAM for candidates to get admission in their preferred courses. After the IIT JAM counselling procedure and submission of the required official documents, IIT Kanpur will release three admission lists which will mention opening and closing rank as per the subjects. The process of IIT JAM online counselling will be concluded by the last week of July, 2020.

JAM Counselling Procedure 2020

  • After the IIT JAM result is declared, the candidates have to fill an admission form based on which IIT JAM 2020 counselling will be done.

  • Candidates have to fill the admission form as per their preferences and choices according to which they will be offered seats during JAM counselling 2020.

  • IIT Kanpur will release three admission lists as part of the IIT JAM 2020 counselling procedure.

  • After the release of the admission lists, the candidates will be given admission according to their preferences.

  • Candidates who have been offered seats during the counselling of JAM 2020 will have to log in through their registered ID and select from three options - Accept and Freeze, Accept with Upgrade and Reject and Quit.

  • The ones who choose Accept and Freeze or Freeze with Upgrade have to pay the ‘Seat Booking Fee’ in online mode via Debit Card/Credit Card/Netbanking.

  • If a candidate chooses to draw/cancel their seats, they will be charged Rs. 1000/- out of the Seat Booking Fee and the final amount will be refunded.

  • If a candidate fails to register or lock their seats during IIT JAM counselling 2020 they will not be considered for the admission process.

  • Candidates who will be qualified and offered the seats must report at the allotted IIT along with their official documents that are required to be submitted at the time of admission.

Documents Required for JAM Counselling 2020

  • Birth Certificate

  • Class 10 and Class 12 Certificate

  • ID Proof (Passport/Voters ID/PAN/Aadhar)

  • College Transfer Certificate

  • Qualifying Degree Certificate

  • Degree Marksheet (If completed)

  • Marksheet until last semester attempted (If in Final Year)

  • Nationality Certificate (General Category)

  • Caste and reservation certificate (OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)), SC, ST

  • Valid Certificate for PwD candidates

JAM Counselling 2020 - Seat Booking fees

Candidates who will be allotted seats in twenty IITs have to freeze their seats in order to get admission. The IIT JAM counselling fees need to be paid in online mode via Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking. A secured gateway will be provided by IIT Kanpur during IIT JAM 2020 counselling through which the candidates can remit the fee for their admission. Candidates can check a total breakdown of IIT JAM counselling fee given below in the table.

Question: Are marks of all papers of 12th checked during IIT jam counseling?

Answer:

No, the seats are allotted only on the basis of the scores acquired in JAM 2020.

Question: Does 10/12 percentage matter during the IIT JAM counselling?

Answer:

No, scores obtained in 10/12th does not matter in IIT JAM counselling procedure. Although, a candidate must have passing marks in their 12th class to be eligible for JAM counselling.

Question: How many times does counselling take place in the IIT JAM?

Answer:

IIT Kanpur will release three admission lists for IIT JAM counselling 2020.

Question: What is the counseling process for IIT JAM?

Answer:

Candidates will be allotted the seats in one of the twenty IITs or IISc based on the preferences filled by them in the JAM admission form. After seats getting allotted, they have to freeze their seats by remitting Seat Booking Fee. If they do not take part in the counselling procedure, they will not be considered for IIT JAM counselling procedure.

I am pursuing my B.sc in Chemistry honours with botany and zoology as a main subject. I hadnt Maths as a subject in my intermediate. Am i eligible to appear in IIT Jam 2021?

hi,

the iits offered msc in chemistry is TB, IITD, IITGN, IITG, IITH, IITI, IITK, IITM, IITR. the eligibility criteria is Bachelor's degree with Chemistry for three years or six semesters and Mathematics at the (10+2) level. so you are not eligible.

The first step is to prepare a time table keeping in mind all the units and topics. Solving JAM 2020 physics sample papers will give you the necessary experience and confidence they will need on the day of the exam.You can also make small notes or  flashcards of important points and write down whatever feels hard to understand.
