Candidates will be allotted seats based on the choices filled by the candidate and Common Percentile (JAM 2019) of the candidate.

If two candidates obtain the same percentile in JAM 2019 the following criterion will be used in the order given while the seat allotment list is prepared.

  • A candidate with a higher JAM 2019 score will be preferred.

  • The candidate who was born earlier as compared to other candidates with tie will be given preference.

  • In highly unlikely event of their date of birth being same which is same score, same date of birth with same Common Percentile, then a Random number is generated and the same is used to break the tie.

CCMN 2019 Seat allotment procedure

First Round allotment

Once the allotment is done, a candidate should follow the two steps mentioned below

Step 1: A candidate must choose from either “Freeze” or “Float” option to continue in the counselling.

Freeze” option – If a candidate is allotted with a particular choice and wishes to retain the same, the “Freeze” option is given and the candidate’s choice is locked as Final.

Following this the candidate will be generated with a PAL after Final Round of allotment.

Candidates must note that they cannot change this “Freeze” option, once selected.

Float” option – If a candidate is allotted with a particular choice and wishes to upgrade it to the highest possible choice, “Float” option is provided to the candidate and is kept in the loop for further round(s) of allotment/upgradation (if any). A candidate will get upgraded to ‘any one of the eligible higher choice’ or may be retained with the same choice given earlier at the end of second and Final Round, depending on the vacancy of seats and the merit.

The candidate will be generated with PAL after Final Round of allotment.

Step 2: Candidate(s) are required to pay the Counselling Participation Fee (CPF) to confirm their allotment and continue with the admission process. A candidate who does not select any one of these “steps” will be removed from the counselling and cannot participate in further round(s).

Candidates are given a choice to voluntarily exit CCMN 2019 procedures without performing any of the above steps, such candidates will be removed from the counselling procedure for all future round(s).

However, if a candidate has followed the steps and made the necessary choices and confirmed participating in further round(s) of counselling, but at the later stages of the counselling procedure decides to exit CCMN 2019 should wait until “Surrender dates”. Candidates who wish to exit the procedures must surrender the allotment during the specific period. The candidates who surrender will be eligible for the refund of paid CPF after deduction of Rs. 1000/- as processing charges.

The refund for such candidates will be settled after the entire counselling process is over. The seats thus falling vacant (hereinafter called 'Vacant Seats') will be considered for allotment/upgradation in the subsequent round(s) of allotment.
