Many times, two candidates have the same percentile in the entrance test, and in this situation, the CCMN seat allotment 2026 list will be prepared on the basis of the given steps.
Elder candidates will get preference as per age.
The seat allotment board will generate a random number to use this formula.
All selected candidates as per the CCMN seat allotment 2026 rounds will be required to follow these steps.
Step 1: Candidates will get a choice to either “Freeze” or “Float” to continue in the counselling round.
“Freeze”
If a candidate wants to go with the option of the allotted seat as per the CCMN 2026 seat allotment rounds, then he/she will be required to select the option of “Freeze”.
With this, the candidate will be able to lock the choice.
After this process, candidates will receive the generated PAL after the final round of counselling.
Candidates will not be able to change their choice after selecting the “Freeze” option. It will be referred to as the final decision of the candidate.
“Float”
One more option for the candidates is “Float”. If any candidate wants to upgrade to the highest possible choice, then they need to select the “Float” option.
Float means when you have accepted the offer as per the CCMN exam seat allotment 2026, but want to explore a better programme opportunity than the allotted programme.
Candidates will be informed on the basis of vacant seats and on the basis of merit in the next rounds.
Therefore, either the candidate's choice of an upgraded and higher choice will be accepted, or the same choice will be secured if there are no vacant seats after the second or final round of counselling is over, or candidates fail to meet the eligibility criteria.
The float option is helpful for the candidates in the loop for the next rounds of counselling to get more opportunities to upgrade their choice if there are any possibilities for it.
Once the generated PAL is given to the candidates, the final round of allotment will be over.
Step 2 - Candidates are required to continue with the final rounds by confirming their seat allotment of the admission process. All eligible candidates are required to pay the counselling participation fee (CPF). If any candidate fails to complete any single step of the CCMN counselling round, then the candidate will be rejected.
Note: Here, candidates need to understand one more thing, and that is the “choice of voluntarily exiting the counselling procedure” in case they do not want to freeze the allotted seat. They can wait for the surrender dates or be announced by the counselling authority. If any candidate wants to exit from the CCMN admission process, then he or she must be required to surrender the seat allotment in the particular period and then wait for the refund of the CPF amount. However, students will not get the full amount refund and they will receive the amount with a deduction of Rs. 1000 from the total amount as a processing fee.
This process takes time and is completed only after all the counselling rounds are over. After the exit (s), the remaining vacant seats are then considered for allotment/up-gradation (applied through ‘Float’ option by the participants) in the subsequent rounds of seat allotment of CCMN 2026.
Depending on the availability of “Vacant seats,” the second round of seat allotment lists will be prepared. The selected candidates in this group will be eligible to participate in the second round of the CCMN seat allotment 2026 counselling session. The second round list will be prepared on the basis of the following criteria:
GROUP – 1: This group of participants is made up of those candidates who have registered for JAM 2026 but were not allotted seats in the first round.
GROUP – 2: The other group of participants are those candidates who chose the “Float” option in the first round of seat allotment. The choices submitted by these candidates will be considered and processed with no change. The seat allotment of CCMN 2026 is done on the basis of choices submitted by the candidates as well as the merit of the JAM 2026 score obtained by the participants.
Similar to the second round, the third round of the CCMN 2026 seat allotment list will be published based on the availability of seats left after the previous counselling rounds are over. The CCMN seat allotment 2026 third round list will be prepared by adopting the following criteria:
Note: No future change in choices will be entertained from the above-mentioned group of candidates, and seat allotment will also be determined on the basis of the choice submitted by these candidates and on the merit of the JAM score obtained by them.
There is a National Sport Round in the CCMN seat allotment process, and this round will take place to fill the vacant seats after three rounds of seat allotment is over. This round will be held after the fee refund
In order to fill the vacant seats left after three rounds of CCMN 2026 seat allotment is over, what follows the process is the organisation of the National Sport Round (NSR). All the candidates who are allotted a seat in any of the three CCMN 2026 seat allotment processes and have decided to surrender their seats will be paid the CPF amount. Note, the CCF group of candidates are eligible for NSR. Further, candidates who were not able to register for the CCMN 2026 are also eligible to apply for NSR.
All the details of the number of available vacant seats for CCMN 2026 NSR will be published by the organising institutes on the official website after the registration window closes. Interested candidates who wish to apply for NSR need to first register and then fill out their preferred choices. Only qualified candidates will be given a chance to download their NSR provisional admission letter 2026 and proceed to participate in the document verification step of the counselling round.

Candidates are required to complete the online reporting after the selection and fee payment. With this, the candidate's seat will be approved after the partial institute fee is paid.
Once the online verification process is completed, the candidate will receive a notification via email for the seat status.
After the seat status approval, candidates can download the CCMN 2026 provisional allotment letter and then pay the balance fee amount.
