Delhi University has announced the DU first seat allocation on July 19, 2025 at admission.uod.ac.in. The DU phase 1 seat allocation list has been released for the candidates who have registered for phase 1 counselling at DU official website. Students will get a question regarding what to do after seat allotment in DU 2025. They are required to accept the DU phase 1 seat allotment between July 19 and 21, 2025.
The DU colleges will check applicants' eligibility and documentation after they accept seats. Candidates must submit their online application fees by the deadline July 23. As per the official notice, a candidate must accept the assigned DU seat within the allotted time to proceed to the next rounds. Non-action will reject the seat, making the candidate ineligible for the further rounds and losing the DU provisionally allocated seat. Read the following article to know more about what to do after seat allotment in DU 2025.
Aspirants who receive an allocated seat in the DU seat allocation list can choose to accept it. If a candidate is offered multiple seats, they must only "Accept" one. To do this, candidates should log in to the DU CSAS website using their application number and password, then they can accept the provisionally allotted seat. If no action is taken on the allotted seat, DU will decline it, and the candidate will not be able to participate in further rounds.

After seat acceptance, colleges will review candidate eligibility and verify uploaded documents. If clarification is needed, the college may contact the candidate or submit a query on the portal. The college can then accept or reject the DU provisional allotment. If accepted, the candidate must pay the admission fee to confirm their DU admission; failure to do so will result in the seat being given to another applicant. If rejected, the college will provide a reason for the rejection. The college will verify the following within the stipulated timeline:
Minimum Eligibility of the candidate.
Program-Specific Eligibility of the candidate.
Subject Mapping: Only those CUET UG 2025 Language and/or Domain specific papers in which the candidate has passed Class XII will be considered.
Validity and authenticity of Documents/Certificates submitted by the candidate.
Upgrade: All admitted candidates get the opportunity to opt for “Upgrade” or “Freeze”. An admitted candidate can select the 'Upgrade' option, which will allow upgradation to a higher preference where they had taken admission. Admitted candidates who opt for upgrade will be upgraded, subject to the availability of seats and as per the allocation policy. A candidate who opts for 'Upgrade' can also reorder the programme + college combinations that were higher in preference than the allocated one.
FREEZE : A candidate who has taken admission on an DU allocated seat and desires to continue with it,should submit a 'Freeze' request through his/her dashboard. On selecting 'Freeze', such a candidate will never be allowed to opt for "Upgradation."
If your DU seat application gets rejected, the college will provide you with a reason for the rejection. Here are some of the most common reasons why DU UG 2025 applications are rejected:
Non-fulfillment of the minimum eligibility by the candidate
Non-fulfillment of program-specific eligibility by the candidate
Non-fulfillment of the subject-mapping criteria
Invalid documents/certificates submitted by the candidate
Failure to respond to the queries raised by the college within the stipulated time.
