CUET Exam Postponed 2024: NTA Postpones May 15 exam in Delhi

Edited By Shankha Ghosh | Updated on May 14, 2024 10:26 PM IST | #CUET UG

According to the National Testing Agency, the CUET 2024 exam is scheduled to be held from May 15 to 31. With the announcement of the Lok Sabha election dates, the UGC chairman M Jagadesh Kumar has posted on twitter that the CUET UG exam dates 2024 are overlapping with election dates which are on May 20 and 25.

The NTA has extended the CUET registration till April 5, which was started on February 27. Students preparing for the CUET entrance exam 2024 may be wondering if the CUET exam date 2024 will be postponed, if the dates overlap, as we have reached the CUET last date for registrations. Students may be excited to know about the CUET UG 2024 exam date change to prepare accordingly.

Now the question is candidates may be eager to know will CUET UG 2024 be postponed? There is a possibility that CUET may get rescheduled considering the fact that NTA has already postponed the SWAYAM January 2024 exam to May 25 due to Lok Sabha election. This is worth noting that national level exams like JEE mains, UPSC prelims, NEET PG and few others have already been delayed due to general elections. However, there has not been any news related to CUET UG exam dates yet.

CUET UG 2024 Postponed Due to Elections?

There is no accurate answer to this question, as there is no concrete data on whether the CUET 2024 exam will be postponed or not. The last report on CUET UG exam dates indicate that the exam will be conducted as per CUET timetable, but considering general elections on May 20 and 25, and the fact that it has caused delay in exams like UPSC prelims, NEET PG is keeping the students guessing. Candidates can check this article to know about the CUET UG 2024 postponed date. It is expected that NTA will clarify the doubt soon, by issuing a new CUET timetable, if required. But, it is expected that CUET 2024 may also get delayed, considering some of the other nation-wide exams got postponed as well.

Is CUET 2024 Postponed?

As of recent reports by the NTA, the Common University Entrance Test may not be postponed. According to the CUET date sheet, the exam will start on May 15 and will conclude on May 31. Considering the tweet from UGC chairman mentioning that two of the exam dates, May 20 and 25 are matching with the election dates, that raises the question is CUET UG 2024 postponed? The admit card of CUET UG 2024 will be issued tentatively in the second week of May. The National Testing Agency is expected to change the scheduled way as due to elections, it may not be a good idea for the students to go out, especially those who have exam centres far from home. For now, students are advised not to listen to any rumours and only believe the trusted sources.

Will CUET 2024 be postponed due to board exams?

Students from CBSE board who are aspiring to appear in CUET UG exam might be wondering if the CBSE dates might collide with the CUET UG exam date 2024. The board exam is expected to be over by April, whereas the CUET UG will start in the middle of May. Students be assured, this is an unlikely event. Candidates can be aware about the CUET exam date 2024 postponed from this article.

Why NTA may postpone CUET UG 2024

With the possibility of CUET exam and general election dates collide, here are a few reasons why will CUET UG 2024 be postponed:

  1. Election Schedules: If the dates overlap, there is a high possibility that the National Testing Agency will postpone the CUET entrance exam, to ensure that the election process does not affect the CUET UG exam process. It helps authority to conduct the exam without any disruption.

  2. Past incidents: There have been several instances where various exams have been rescheduled as they were lapping with election dates. Even this year, a number of exams got rescheduled. Some of these exams are NEET PG, UPSC prelims, and some others.

  3. Convenience of the students: It is considered one of the top priorities of authorities like NTA to consider the accessibility of students. Not only transportation issues on the day of election, several other factors may affect students.

  4. Number of officials present: Another important issue is that many govt officials serve on election duty, which makes it difficult to find invigilators or other officials who would do their duties on the CUET 2024 exam centre.

  5. Availability of venues: This is one of the most important reasons why NTA may postpone the CUET UG. Considering the criteria that makes an exam centre for NTA, due to election, most of such venues will already be occupied. This will make it difficult for NTA to find suitable venues to conduct the CUET entrance examination.

  6. Consultation: Before conducting such large scale exams like CUET UG, NTA will consult various ministries like the Ministry of Education (MoE), educational institutions and the Election Commission of India. There is a high possibility that these authorities will suggest against conducting the CUET exam during election time.

Note: Despite all that, students are advised to calm down and focus on things that they can control, like their preparation for the exam. We will update this article as soon as NTA announces any updates regarding the CUET postponed exam date 2024.

Hello ayush hope you are doing well

BSc is a future oriented course which emphasis on research as well as teaching oriented degree It gives you a depth on that subject But it depends on your future what you want to do. Btech is industry based course and Bsc is a research based academic degree and NEET is a entry level of professional course If you have enough courage to take a drop and crack any entrance of Engineering or neet for good colleges then you can drop a year. But firstly make sure that your drop year should be worth enough in future.it totally depends on you how you are going to spend your coming year.

If you are not sure about any of these courses and want to take admission this year go for bachelor in science in private universities as they still open their admission process.
