What is DDU RET?

The full form of DDU RET is the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Research Eligibility Test. It is conducted by the Deen Dayal Upadhyay University, Gorakhpur every year. This entrance exam gives the opportunity for the post graduates to take admission in the Ph.D courses in the university. It offers a total 36 Ph.D programmes. The RET is conducted in online mode. A candidate admitted to the Ph.D. Programme in a Department may be categorised under any of the three programmes- (A)Full-time Research Scholar (B) Part-time Research Scholar and (C) International Research Scholar.

Applicants before applying the DDU RET application form 2024 must check all the DDU Research eligibility Test criteria. Here is the list of criteria that must fulfil by the candidates:

• Applicants must possess a post graduation degree from any recognised institutions.

• They must possess a minimum 55% marks in their post graduation. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade would be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled.

• Final year post graduation students can also apply for the DDU RET 2024.

The RET application form of Deen Dayal Upadhayay must be filled out in online mode by visiting the website at dduguadmission.in. Applicants first need to register themselves in the portal to fill out the DDU RET 2024 application form. They are also asked to upload their photograph and signature. STEP 1: Fill Application Form for Selected Course

• Visit the DDU Gorakhpur website through the link dduguadmission.in.

• In the homepage click on the Ph.D. programme tab.

• Read the given instructions carefully.

• Scroll the page and click on the ‘Click Here to Login’ option.

• In the DDU registration form fill all the details such as Name of Applicant, Date of Birth, Father's and Mother's Name, Unique and valid Mobile Number, Category, Stream applying for, Password, Re-enter Password and the Captcha.

STEP 2: Account Verification

• After registration, Applicants will receive an OTP on the registered mobile number.

• Applicants can verify the account by entering the OTP on the verification code field.

STEP 3: Payment Mode

• After account verification, Applicant proceeds to the payment gateway for Payment of the Application Fee.

• The fee can be paid by Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking and UPI

• On completion of the fee payment process, the applicant can download the fee receipt.

STEP 4: Application Form

• The application form has five sections namely, Application Fee, Basic Information, Qualifying Examination.

• Students need to fill all the sections one by one carefully.

• Then candidates are required to upload their photograph, signature, high school marksheet and certificate, etc.

• Click on the ‘Preview’ button and check all the filled out details.

• After reviewing the DDU application form 2024, click on the ‘Submit’ button.

DDU RET Exam 2024

It is mandatory for the DDU RET applicants to be aware of the exam pattern of DDU Gorakhpur RET. The test will be conducted in offline mode. There will be a total of 70 questions asked in the paper. Of which 35 questions are based on the research method and remaining 35 on the concerned subject. Students will have to complete the DDU RET exam within 90 minutes.

DDU RET Selection Criteria 2024

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya University Gorakhpur offers three different types of PhD courses. The DDU selection criteria 2024 for different courses varies.

Full-time Research Scholar

The final selection of candidates for Ph.D. Programme through RET shall be based on 70% weightage in the entrance test (RET) and 30% to the performance in interview. The final merit of admission in Ph.D. programme shall be as follows:

Total Marks= Marks Secured in RET + Marks Secured in Interview/viva-voce Performance

Part-time research scholar

The selection of candidates for part-time Ph.D programmes shall be based on a separate test. 70% weightage shall be given to a write-up of 1000 words submitted by the applicant and 30% weightage to the work experience, Academic Index and performance in the interview.

International research scholar

DDU RET Result 2024

After evaluating all the answers the university will release the DDU Research Eligibility Test result on its website. The shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview round. 70% weightage is given to the written paper. Remaining 30% is based on the interview. The shortlisted candidates must appear for the interview for the final selection in the research courses in the Deen Dayal University, Gorakhpur.
