About EFLU Entrance Test 2020

EFLU entrance test, conducted by English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad, is conducted for those who aspire for the admission into various UG and PG courses offered by the university. Sitting in EFLU 2020 and passing the examination open the gate for admissions into some of the university's programmes ranging from B.A. in English, Arabic, French, Japanese, and B.Ed. to M.A in English, Comparative Literatures, Linguistics, English Language Teaching, and many more. 

EFLU entrance test is a computer-based examination which is objective type for most of the courses, while for courses in foreign languages, the test is both objective and descriptive type. Candidates seeking admissions into the university have to compete for 790 seats in total. 

EFLU 2020 test for admissions in B.A. (Hons.) English and B.A (Hons.) Foreign Languages will be conducted in the last week of March 2020, tentatively. The online application process will be started in the first week of February 2020. The last date to fill the application form of EFLU 2020 will be notified in the last week of February 2020.

EFLU Entrance Test 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admissions into EFLU’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes have to fulfil the EFLU eligibility criteria 2020. Candidates can check if they fulfil the eligibility criteria for the course they are seeking admissions into, else they will be deemed as ineligible from taking admissions into the university. 

 B.A Courses

  • Candidates should have cleared their 10+2/intermediate exam or an equivalent thereto with a minimum aggregate of 50% if from General/OBC categories and 45% if from SC/ST categories.
  • The aggregate must be inclusive of marks secured in English.

  • Candidates who have to appear for the qualifying examination should pass the exam and scored the minimum marks by the time of admission.

 B.Ed in English 

  • Candidates require a minimum aggregate of 50% marks if from General/OBC categories and 45% if from SC/ST categories in B.A. English. Candidates have to score percentages for their respective categories in case of M.A. English. 

  • Candidates who still have to appear for the qualifying examination are subject to the aforementioned rules for such candidates.

M.A. Courses

  • Candidates required a bachelor’s degree with at least an aggregate of 55% if from General/OBC categories and 50% if from SC/ST categories.

  • Candidates who are yet to appear for the qualifying examination may follow the aforementioned rule for such candidates.

  • For admissions to language courses like Arabic, French, German, Russian, Hispanic language and literature, candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in the respective language.

  • Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a proficiency certificate of B1 level equivalent to an advanced diploma in that language are also eligible.

English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad, will release the application form of EFLU 2020 in online mode for all UG and PG courses, tentatively, in the first week of February 2020. The application process will be closed in the last week of February 2020.

How to fill EFLU Application Form 

  • Candidates will have to first click on the official link to fill the application form.
  • After clicking on the link, candidates will be required to complete the registration process by providing their name, mobile number, email ID, and date of birth.
  • To complete the registration process, click on the ‘submit’ button after filling in all the details.

  • The university will send a password to the candidates on their email ID and mobile number. These credentials are to retained by the candidate for further references. 

  • Now to fill up the application form, candidates will now go to ‘Go to the application form’ tab.

  • After opening this tab, candidates will have to fill in the details asked on the EFLU application form. Click on ‘save’ after entering all the details.

  • There will be separate links on the form to upload the different documents. To start uploading each of the documents, candidates will have to click on the respective tabs.

  1. Scanned copy of the signature of the candidate

  2. Scanned copy of candidate’s photography

  3. Scanned copy of Aadhar card/passport/ration/voter card. 

  4. In case of OBC/SC/ST candidates, scanned copy of the caste certificate.

  5. In case of disabled candidates, scanned copy of the PWD certificate.

  6. In case of wards of defence personnel, WDP certificate’s scanned copy.

Signature

Black ink/ballpoint pen, White paper, 140*60 pixels, less than 20 KB, .jpg/.jpeg format, signatures on the answer script should match with the signature uploaded.


SC/ST/OBC/PWD/WDP certificates

Scanner resolution at least 200 dpi, true colour, jpg or .jpeg format, 50 to 150 KB, Crop the image to the image’s edge in the scanner. With the help of the upload editor, crop the image to final size.    




  • Candidates will be able to pay the fees in online mode using one of the following options - credit card/debit card/net banking to make the payment. General/OBC/WDP candidates need to pay Rs. 500 plus payment gateway charges, while SC/ST categories have to pay Rs. 250 plus payment gateway charges.

Candidates who want to clear the examinations by attaining the qualifying marks and secure a seat for themselves in the courses offered by EFLU can go through these preparation tips of EFLU 2020.

  • Go through the exam pattern carefully and jot down the important topics/areas of assessment in the test. Read up sufficient material on them and practice them on a regular basis. 
  • Make a time-table where all the topics of study are effectively accommodated. Candidates are advised to consistently follow the timetable and achieve the goals or tasks assigned on a daily/weekly/monthly basis. 
  • Practice previous years' sample papers. Conduct your own mock test sessions where you can practice sample or question papers within the same duration as of the exam. EFLU Exam Pattern 2020 - Marking Scheme 

  • Maximum marks of the paper was 100 
  • Each question was for one mark.
  • There was no negative marking. 

English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad will release the admit card of EFLU 2020 for all UG and PG courses, tentatively, in the first week of March 2020. Following are the steps following which candidates will be able to easily download their admit cards. 

  • Visit the official website.

  • Click on 'Download EFLU admit card'

  • The candidates need to enter their login credentials like login ID and password.

  • After entering their details, candidates’ admit cards will show up on their screens.

  • At this stage, candidates are advised to check if all the details mentioned on the admit card are correct or not. 

  • In case of any discrepancy, candidates are advised to get in touch with the university officials immediately.

  • After thorough verification, candidates can download the admit card, take a printout, and retain the hard copy till the time admission.

Candidates are to ensure that they carry at least two copies of admit cards with them on the examination hall along with a valid ID proof. Failing to do so will bar candidates from appearing for the test.

  • Under the head called ‘academic announcements’, candidates will see a pdf containing their results. Candidates will have to click on this pdf.
  • In the pdf, candidates will have to search for their hall ticket number to check their results.

  • Candidates may download and take a printout of the result. They are also suggested to retain the result for any future references.
