Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University will conduct the IPU CET counselling in offline mode for a few of the courses. IPU CET Online Counselling Procedure 2026

The GGSIPU conduct the IPU CET counselling in online mode. IP University online counselling procedure 2026 is mandatory for all the selected candidates so that they don’t miss any important steps of the counselling process at the expense of their allotted seat. Here is an overview of the IPU CET counselling procedure.

Step 1 - Counselling participation fee submission

• Go to the official website and click on the activated link

• Make a payment of Rs. 1000 as IP counselling participation fee (it is a non-refundable amount)

• From drop down click on “Payment of Counselling Participation Fee”

• Add the CET roll number, date of birth, mobile number.

• Select mode of payment and pay the counselling participation fee through net banking or credit/debit card or cash.

• After the payment of IPU counselling registration fees, applicants need to take printouts of the online fee confirmation receipt.

• If discrepancies are found in paid fees ( say candidates receive a ‘transaction unsuccessful’ message after a few attempts) report the issue immediately to the officials of the university.

Step 2 - Registration

• Once the IPU CET counselling fee is paid, candidates need to move on to completing the registration steps of IPU counselling 2026.

• Applicants who made a payment through challan need to complete the registration process after two days of depositing cash in any branch of Indian bank.

• Candidates need to add in personal, academic, and contact details at the time of registration.

• After the registration process, note down the GGSIPU login for counselling id and password as it will be used till the admission process is complete.

• Applicants need to take printouts of the filled in registration form for future reference.

Step 3 - IPU CET Choice Filling

• Applicants need to enter their preferences.

• Now, check the list of all the possible combinations of institutes and the available courses.

• Applicants should enter a maximum number of choices at the time of admission to keep their chances of securing a seat in the university high.

Step 4 - Seat Allotment Result

• Candidates must check the status of their seat allocations through their individual accounts- they can do this by doing the GGSIPU login for counselling in with the same credentials that they had generated during the IP university counselling registration.

• Upon receiving a seat allocation, candidates need to access their provisional admission letter. Candidates need to print their admission letter in advance for their respective round of counselling.

• Once the seats have been allotted to the candidates, they need to pay the admission fees through net banking facility and debit/credit card or cash. If candidates do not pay the academic fees, they will be disqualified from claiming the seat allotted to them.

Step 5 - Freezing of Seat

• Applicants who are satisfied with the allotted seats and who do not want to opt for seat up-gradation (by attending next rounds of IPU online counselling rounds) need to click on the ‘freeze’ option.

• If candidates do not want to select the ‘Freeze’ option, then candidates’ higher preferences will be taken into consideration and they will lose the seat allotted to them.

IPU CET Offline Counselling Procedure 2026

• Applicants who are participating for the offline counselling of IP University 2026 need to appear according to the schedule.

• Qualified applicants need to report to the counselling centre on the scheduled date and time. After reaching the venue, candidates need to mark their attendance in the sheet provided by the admission officer.

• Applicants need to pay the IPU counselling participation fee.

• Candidates must collect the admission slip duly signed by the admission officer, after depositing the IPU CET 2026 counselling fee. Note, without collecting the admission slip, candidates cannot leave the counselling hall. The details mentioned in the admission slip should be properly cross-checked by the candidates to ensure there are no errors in the details mentioned in the slip.

• In order of rank or merit, candidates will be selected for the counselling round of IPU CET 2026.

• With the help of CET code, candidates will be able to change new programmes or institutions in the subsequent round of IPU online counselling only if it belongs to the same CET code. For this, candidates need to pay a demand draft in favour of the registrar, GGSIPU. In such a case, based on the availability of seats, candidates will be allotted a new programme/institution.

• At the time of the counselling process, candidates need to report their problems or discrepancies to the university officials if they face any kind of issues.

• Candidates who have completed the admission process, but wish to withdraw from it, as well those who have not been allotted a seat are eligible to attend the next rounds of counselling.

• Once all the seats are filled for all the courses, the university will halt the counselling procedure.

IPU CET Counselling Fee

Candidates aspiring to take part in the counselling at IP University must pay the counselling fees for GGSIPU. Candidates can pay the IPU CET counselling participation fee through various modes. Candidates can pay the IPU CET Counselling fees in offline mode, such as cash or they can opt for online mode, such as credit or debit card or they can pay by using the net banking facility.

Candidates are required to pay a counselling fees of Rs 1000/- along with an IPU counselling registration fee of Rs. 500/- in either online or offline mode. The counselling registration fees for IPU must be submitted by the deadline. Candidates can make the payment for the GGSIPU counselling in online modes such as net banking or Credit/ Debit card; or they can pay by cash.

Note: Candidates who are paying by cash must remember that the challan to pay for IP University counselling must be downloaded from the official website of IPU only.

IPU CET 2026 Spot Counselling

• After the display of the vacant seats in the affiliated colleges the university will conduct the IPU CET spot counselling round

• Selected applicants will have to pay Rs 2000 as a participation fee and this is a non-refundable amount.

• Spot counselling round is conducted in the offline mode to fill up the vacant seats.

• Applicants who could not freeze their options but had paid the part academic fee will be allowed to participate in the spot counselling round.

• All CET qualified candidates who could not make it to the admissions of any course will however get a chance to participate in the spot counselling of IPU CET 2026.

• Candidates who have completed admission formalities are considered ‘Admitted’ candidates. However, these candidates who withdraw their admissions from the university will also get a chance to participate in the spot counselling round upon payment of Rs. 5000. The seat vacated by them after withdrawal of admission will be offered to other deserving candidates.

• The spot counselling round is open for all the ‘non-admitted’ candidates to participate in the round.

IPU CET Counselling 2026 - Candidates seats can be cancelled for the following reasons

• If applicants fail to complete the IPU counselling registration process even after the participation fee is already paid.

• The counselling participation fee has not been paid by the candidates.

• If applicants fail to fill their preferences even after they have paid the participation fee and completed registration for the counselling process.

• In case, candidates have not paid the part academic fee (Rs 40,000) after they were given a seat in the university.

IPU CET Document Verification

Candidates who have successfully registered for the IPU CET must go through the counselling document verification process. Candidates will be notified by mail with a list of documents required for the document verification. Candidates must take two photocopies of each document along with the original to the verification centre of the IPU.

IPU CET Seat Allotment 2026

The university will publish the IPU CET round 1 seat allotment on June 12, 2026 at ipu.ac.in. Candidates must login to check IPU CET 2026 seat allocation results for the preferred course in order to complete the process. By opting for the net banking facility or by using a debit/credit card, candidates can book or freeze their seats. After the IPU CET seat allocation, candidates will be able to withdraw from the programme in order to switch to another course. Candidate's earlier seat allocation will be retained if they fail to claim admission to a different course.

IPU CET Counselling 2026 - Key Points

• In order to fill the vacant seats, 'non-admitted' candidates who have qualified in the CET but have not yet been able to secure admission can take part in the spot counselling round.

• During the counselling rounds, candidates will be able to make changes to their allotted program/institution, provided that the new preference they select corresponds with the CET code they have chosen. Candidate preferences can only be changed by making a payment of Rs. 5000 and based on the availability of seats in the desired program/institution.

• Applicants must pay their part of the academic fees by the deadline. To avoid last-minute hassles resulting from technical glitches, this is an excellent idea.

• The university reserves seats based on the reservation policy it observes for CET candidates.

• It is recommended that the candidates take printed copies of their provisional admission letters after the seat allocation process is over and within the confines of the respective round. In subsequent rounds of counselling, the letters will not be issued immediately.

• To book an IPU seat, candidates must freeze the allotment process without delay.

• To secure their IPU allotted seats, candidates must attend the offline counselling event on the scheduled date. However, a candidate may appear for the counselling round in subsequent days. Approval to the seat allotment is based on available vacant seats.

• IP University will not allot seats to candidates who fail to meet the eligibility criteria for IPU CET.

• The IPU CET counselling participation fee should be paid through cash, credit/debit card or using the net banking facility.
