The resurgence of the Covid-19 cases in India has coerced the education institutions to pull their gears back towards the point where they all were standing a year back. At the time when the colleges and universities were prepping fast to return to the previously existing state of affairs, the spike in the number of Covid-19 cases has put a pause to their speed.
Many universities have either postponed or cancelled their semester and entrance examinations. However, there are still some universities that are yet to take any decision on the modalities of the examination. This uncertainty amid the pandemic has brought a sense of confusion and scepticism amongst the student fraternity. Here, in this article, we have gathered all the updates and notifications related to the universities exam postponement and cancellation around the country.
The decision of Visvesvaraya Technological University to go ahead with the examinations amid the pandemic has created resentment among the VTU students. The students are storming tweets demanding the postponement of the examinations. The university has released the SOP guidelines for the VTU examinations. As a preventive measure, the staff of the university will be provided with the PPE kits and the students showing the Covid-19 symptoms will appear in the examinations from a separate room.
Gauhati University, Assam has postponed the Gauhati University PG exams for the first semesters to April 30. The practical exams were scheduled to take place on May 19. The rescheduled examination will be held from April 30.
In the view of Covid-19 surge, the Rajasthan Technical University has decided to defer the examinations for first year and final year students. The exams were scheduled to be held in the month of May. In another decision, the university has decided to conduct the Rajasthan University 2021 exams for even semesters in the online mode.

The entrance examination of UP BEd JEE 2021 which was scheduled to be held on May 19 has been put on hold, in view of the increase in Covid-19 cases. The UP BEd JEE is conducted by Lucknow University for admission to BEd programmes in different colleges of Uttar Pradesh. The new dates of the UP BED JEE 2021 entrance test will be announced soon by Lucknow University.
Kerala Governor, Mohammed Arif Khan has announced the postponement of all the exams around the state. These universities include Kerala University of Health Sciences, Malayalam University, APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Kerala University, Calicut University, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kochi, Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) and Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University. Kerala is among one of the worst Covid-19 hit states in the country.
South Asian University (SAU) has deferred the SAU 2021 entrance test, in view of Covid-19 cases. The SAU 2021 entrance exams were scheduled to be held on April 10 and April 11. The new dates for the South Asian University entrance examination 2021 will be released soon on the official website of SAU.
Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi has postponed the AIMC entrance test 2021 for admission to PG Diploma programmes. The AIMC mass communication exam 2021 was scheduled to be held on April 7. The entrance exam of AIMC will now be conducted on May 8. The last date of filling and submitting the AIMC application form 2021 has been extended till May 7.
Aligarh Muslim University has withdrawn the AMU entrance test schedule 2021. Earlier, these AMU entrance exams were scheduled to begin on June 20. A new schedule containing the AMU entrance test dates 2021 will be made available soon on the Aligarh Muslim University admission portal. “In view of resurgence of COVID0-19 pandemic, the admission test schedule for the session 2021-22 stands withdrawn. Fresh schedule for admission tests for the session 2021-22 will be notified in the due course of time,” reads an official notification available on the AMU’s website.
