IIT JAM 2025 Centres Moved from Prayagraj to Lucknow: Here’s What Happened

Edited By Shankha Ghosh | Updated on Jan 29, 2025 04:10 PM IST | #JAM

A major change was witnessed in the IIT JAM this year in terms of exam centre location. The IIT Delhi has shifted all the IIT JAM exam centres from Prayagraj to Lucknow due to the Mahakumbh festival gathering. A number of students have expressed their concern regarding the gathering during the Maha kumbh mela and how it could cause issues for them to commute to their exam centres. The IIT JAM 2025 will be held on February 2 in two shifts, one from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and the other from 2:30 to 5:30 pm.

Students who previously chose their exam city to be Prayagraj are advised to download their updated JAM admit card as soon as possible. To download IIT JAM admit card, candidates can log into their JOAPS portal again and enter their application number and password to see the changes. The National Testing Agency has also shifted the GATE exam centres at Prayagraj to Lucknow for the same reason.

Congratulations on securing such a phenomenal rank...!!!

With 28.33 marks and AIR 1269 in JAM you have reasonable chance of securing admission in NITs and IISERs such as NIT Trichy, NIT Warangal , IISERs and NIT Surathkal.

To check if your rank of 2224 in JAM 2025 Math (GEN) is good enough for an NIT, it's important to look at the previous years' cutoffs and trends for Mathematics in various NITs. Generally, a rank like 2224 could allow admission to some NITs, especially in specific categories, but the chances depend heavily on the specific NIT and the course demand.

I would recommend checking the detailed JAM 2025 cutoff trends for Mathematics on the Careers360 website or consulting their JAM College Predictor to get a more precise idea based on recent data.
