The CUET 2025 has some changes in the exam pattern, selection of subjects and exam duration. Candidates should stay updated with the latest information before they start the CUET UG application process. Below, we have listed some of the major changes in the CUET UG exam 2025.
The number of CUET UG subjects has been reduced from 63 to 37 (23 domain subjects and 13 languages)
Admissions for removed languages will be based on General Aptitude Test (GAT) scores.
The CUET UG examination 2025 will be held in CBT mode.
Students can select subjects irrespective of what they studied in Class 12th.
Students can select up to five subjects in the CUET exam instead of six.
The exam duration for all CUET subjects will be 60 minutes per subject.
Candidates have to answer all the questions in the CUET UG exam, no optional questions allowed.
While filling out the CUET UG 2025 application form, aspirants can select multiple universities as they wish to seek admission. The number of CUET UG participating universities to select will be depended on by the guidelines provided by the NTA. Hi! CUET UG 2025 will be conducted in May–June 2025 in computer-based mode across multiple shifts. Registration is open from March 1–22, 2025, with corrections allowed from March 24–26. It is for students completing Class 12 or equivalent, and eligibility may vary by university. The exam has Language, Domain-Specific Subjects, and General Test sections. Admit cards will be released in May, and results are expected in June 2025, followed by university counseling.

If you mean that you are in your second year of a BA program and want to appear for CUET PG 2026, then yes you can take the exam. However, you will not be eligible for admission that year because you are still in your second year, and CUET PG scores are valid only for the immediately following academic session.
