    Students must have scored 60% marks or more (for general/ OBC) and 55% for reserved categories in the last qualifying exam to be eligible for admission to MSc courses at NISER Bhubaneswar.     Candidates must have passed the Class XII (or equivalent) examination in 2024 or 2025, or be appearing for it in 2026.

    General / OBC: At least 60% aggregate marks (or equivalent grade).

    SC / ST / Divyangjan: At least 55% aggregate marks.

    Age Limit

    There is no upper age limit for appearing in the exam or for admission.

    Merit Rank

    Admission is strictly based on securing a rank in the NEST 2026 merit list.

    Board Requirements

    The aggregate marks must be from a single recognized Board (provisional certificates are accepted for 2026 appearing students).

    NISER Bhubaneswar MSc Scholarships 2026

    All admitted Integrated M.Sc. students are eligible for a scholarship of 60,000 INR per year (5,000 INR/month) under the DISHA programme. Students receive an additional 20,000 INR per year as a contingency grant for summer internships/projects.

    Hi, the exact data for 2025 is not available. However, in 2024, over 45,000 students registered for the exam and more than 27,000 appeared. The NEST 2026 exam is scheduled to be held on June 6.

    Yes , the NEST exam is generally considered tougher than NEET as it requires more focus towards conceptual understanding and thinking , while NEET generally tests NCERT based knowledge where as in NEST it requires you to have deeper clarity in Physics , Chemistry , Biology and Mathematics.
