    Careers360: Please briefly introduce yourself, including your graduation year, programme, and specialisation.

    Yagneshwaran: My name is Yagneshwaran T Mannargudi. I completed my BBA (Hons) from VIT Business School, Chennai, and graduated in the year 2025. During my time at VIT Chennai, I served as the Programme Representative for the academic years 2023–2024 and 2024–2025, and I was also a member of the Student Council in 2023-2024. I was the Overall Student Coordinator for Taikunn 2024 and served as the Head of Marketing for Vibrance 2025. In addition to this, I was part of the volunteering team for several university events and actively participated in almost every event, seminar, and departmental activity throughout my three years at VIT.

    Careers360: How would you evaluate the overall quality of education you received at VIT Chennai?

    Yagneshwaran: I would evaluate the overall quality of education at VIT Chennai as Excellent. The institution provided a strong academic foundation along with practical exposure through projects, internships, and industry-oriented learning through Industrial Visits.The support from faculty members, opportunities for leadership, and exposure through various academic and extracurricular activities helped me develop both professionally and personally. My experience at VITBS, Chennai has played a significant role in shaping my confidence, skills, and career readiness.

    Careers360: To what extent did the curriculum prepare you for professional practice or advanced studies?

    Yagneshwaran: To a great extent, as the curriculum combined strong conceptual learning with projects, case studies, and industry exposure that prepared me for real-world professional practice and higher studies.

    Careers360: Which skills developed during your course are most valuable in your current role?

    Yagneshwaran: Practical data analysis skills using SPSS and Power BI, along with a strong foundation in MS Word and Excel, have been very valuable. Presentation and communication skills developed through internal assessments, internship reviews, and capstone presentations, along with teamwork and project management experience from group assignments, leadership and problem-solving abilities gained through internships and academic projects, have been the most useful in my professional growth.

    Careers360: Which on-campus resources (library, career services, labs) were most valuable?

    Yagneshwaran: The library was one of the most valuable resources as it is very advanced and made studying easier. We had subject-specific books from well-known authors, and multiple copies were available, which helped us study as a class. Regarding the labs, licensed software like SAP and SPSS was available, and we had flexible access to the lab anytime. This helped us carry out our research smoothly and gain practical experience.

    Careers360: How relevant were the placement training and career guidance sessions?

    Yagneshwaran: The placement process was well-structured and systematic; career guidance sessions and increased company participation made it more effective and beneficial for students.

    Careers360: Are you or would you be interested in contributing as a mentor, guest speaker, or recruiter?

    Yagneshwaran: Yes, I would be very happy to contribute as a mentor, guest speaker, or recruiter. As my career is based in Chennai and I plan to continue here, I am available and open to supporting such activities whenever required.

    Careers360: During your time as a student, did you participate in any alumni-related interactions or activities?

    Yagneshwaran: Yes

    Careers360: What’s one thing you really enjoyed about campus life at VIT Chennai, and what improvements would you suggest?

    Yagneshwaran: To be honest, the first thing that caught my eye was the lush green campus and the huge sports grounds. I’m a big sports lover, so seeing all that space and the vibe of the campus really excited me even before the admission process. The infrastructure is

    great.

    Careers360: What would you suggest to students aiming for a career path like yours?

    Yagneshwaran: Students aiming for a career path like mine should focus on building a strong foundation in business concepts while also developing analytical thinking, communication, and presentation skills. Actively participate in events, management fests, internships, projects, and leadership opportunities to gain practical exposure. If you are planning to move into law (where I am today) or a specialized field, start exploring the area early, stay updated with current developments, and work on improving your research, reading, and critical thinking skills.
