Q- Can you briefly tell us about your career path so far?

Answer: My journey in the field of technology began at a young age, back in Class 8 when a teacher's challenge ignited a spark within me. Instead of simply playing games in the computer labs, I was encouraged to channel my knowledge into game development. Although I didn't pursue game development as my primary focus, that initial challenge set me on a path of exploration and discovery.

As I delved deeper into the world of technology, I found myself drawn to web development. I started creating projects that streamlined processes and improved efficiency for the management at our school. These early successes boosted my confidence and set the stage for what was to come.

In my 11th and 12th grades, I immersed myself in problem-solving programming languages, participating in ideathons, makeathons, and competitions both within and outside of VIT. The support and platform provided by VIT were instrumental in allowing me to balance my academic pursuits with my passion for competitions and community contributions.

During my time at VIT, I had the opportunity to undertake high-level internships with organisations such as Linguee Global Solutions (in collaboration with VIT), MLH Fellowship, JP Morgan, Deloitte, Microsoft, and Samsung. These experiences exposed me to diverse areas of technology and helped me build a strong professional network and digital footprint.

In my third year, I delved deeper into research, focusing on projects in cloud computing, blockchain, and deep learning. These experiences fueled my passion for innovation and problem-solving.

As I approached my final year, I was honored to receive a placement offer from Societe Generale. Since then, I have been dedicated to contributing to their product development and sustainability goals.

Throughout my journey, I have been fortunate to receive recognition in both national and international communities and competitions for my contributions. I am grateful for the opportunities I've had and excited for what the future holds in the ever-evolving field of technology.

Hello there,

Deciding whether to accept admission to VIT Chennai for CSE or to take a drop for JEE and aim for IIT requires careful consideration of your goals and circumstances. Here are some factors to help you make your decision:

1. Cost vs. Value:

  • The total fee of 19-20 lakhs for four years is significant. Consider if you believe the education and opportunities at VIT justify this investment compared to potential IIT options.

    2. Your Interest in CSE:

  • Since you’re aiming specifically for CSE at IIT, think about your passion for the field. If you’re genuinely committed to pursuing CSE, then it’s worth considering whether waiting for an IIT is feasible for you.

    3. Drop Year Considerations:

  • Taking a drop means you’ll need to prepare effectively for the JEE again. Assess your readiness and commitment to studying hard for another year.

  • Consider the potential stress and uncertainties of dropping a year; make sure you have a solid study plan and resources to improve your chances.

    4. Backup Options:

  • If you choose to take a drop, consider having backup options. Look at other reputable institutions or courses that might also align with your interests, in case your JEE attempt doesn't yield the expected results.

    5. Future Prospects:

  • Research the placements and industry connections of VIT Chennai versus IITs. While IITs are generally highly regarded, VIT also has good placement records, especially in CSE.

    Conclusion:

If your ultimate goal is to study CSE at an IIT and you’re confident in your ability to improve your JEE score, taking a drop could be a valid option. However, if you feel uncertain about the process or believe you might miss out on valuable education and opportunities at VIT, accepting the offer could also be a smart move. Assess your priorities, financial situation, and commitment level before making a final decision.
