The campus placement process begins with a Placement Orientation organised by the Career Development Cell (CDC). Physical interviews for the shortlisted students are conducted in any of the VIT Campuses based on the convenience of the recruiters, and the students from other VIT campuses are virtually connected.

Careers360: What percentage of students get placed every year during the placements?

Dr. Saleem: Approximately 80–90% of students secure placement each year during the campus recruitment process.

Careers360: What is the Career Development Centre? How does the CDC play a predominant role in shaping the career goals of students?

Dr. Saleem: The Career Development Centre is to empower students to achieve their career aspirations by providing them with the necessary support, guidance, and resources. The Centre is committed to promoting a culture of lifelong learning and to helping students acquire the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in a rapidly changing job market.

The primary objective of the CDC is to provide students with a variety of career-related services that will help them to prepare for, enter, and succeed in the workforce. The key objectives of the CDC are as follows:

  • To provide students with the resources, tools, and guidance they need to explore career options and make informed decisions.

  • To assist students in developing the skills and competencies necessary to succeed in the workforce.

  • To connect students with potential employers and job opportunities.

  • To support students in their job search efforts and provide ongoing career support throughout their professional journey.

  • Practising quantitative, logical‑reasoning, and verbal‑ability aptitude tests

Questions related to VIT Chennai

Have a question related to VIT Chennai ?

VIT Chennai is generally considered superior to VIT Bhopal in terms of infrastructure, faculty, research opportunities, and industry connections. It has a more established reputation, particularly in Computer Science Engineering, offering better placement prospects.

Hi,

With a VITEEE rank of 66,560, getting Biotechnology or Biomedical Engineering at VIT Vellore is difficult, as these branches usually close at much lower ranks. You might still have a slim chance at VIT Chennai , depending on seat availability and category.

If you're flexible, you can also explore these branches at VIT Bhopal or VIT-AP , where cutoff ranks are usually higher.

Hope this helps!

VIT Bhopal – CSE (Cat 1): Lower fees, good for programming, but newer campus and fewer top-tier companies.

VIT Chennai – ECE (Cat 2): Better campus, more industry exposure, but higher fees and slightly lower average packages for ECE.

Verdict: If you prefer CSE and lower fees, go for VIT Bhopal. If you value campus reputation and industry exposure, choose VIT Chennai ECE.

Hey there! With a rank of 38,230 in VITEEE 2025, getting into Mechanical Engineering at VIT Vellore or VIT Chennai might be a bit of a stretch, especially since those programs are pretty competitive. Generally, the cutoff ranks for those branches tend to be lower, so you might want to explore other options or branches at VIT. But hey, don't lose hope! Sometimes there are surprises in the counseling process, so keep your options open and stay positive! Good luck! For Detail call-9962747850

Hey there! So, comparing VIT Chennai to Vellore for B.Tech in Computer Science is like comparing apples to oranges, honestly. Vellore is the OG campus and has a more established reputation, better faculty, and a ton of industry connections, which can be a big plus for placements. On the flip side, VIT Chennai is newer but still pretty solid, with good facilities and a growing reputation. If you’re looking for that traditional VIT experience, Vellore might be the way to go, but Chennai has its own vibe and is definitely worth considering! For Detail call-9962747850
