Students must have passed the Class 12th examination with the required percentage of marks in the required discipline to be eligible for admission to the UG programmes at VIT Chennai. Similarly, for VIT Chennai PG admission, students must hold a bachelor's degree with the required percentage of marks. Students can apply for VIT Chennai admission by 15th May 2026.

VIT Chennai Eligibility Criteria 2026
For VIT Chennai BTech Fashion Design and BSc Fashion Design admission, students must have passed HSC with 60% marks in the PCB group. Students must have passed the intermediate examination with 70% marks (60% for SC/ ST) in the required field to meet the eligibility for BBA Hons, BCom Hons, BSc Economics and BSc CS admission at VIT Chennai.
To be eligible for the Vellore Institute of Technology MSc Applied Psychology, students must have a bachelor's degree 70% (60% for SC/ST students). Candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh and the North Eastern States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura also have 10% relaxation for UG and PG admission eligibility criteria.

VIT Chennai Selection Process 2026
Admission is through merit and is based on the mentioned qualifying examination.
The applicants will be called for a Personal Interview (Hybrid Mode).
A rank list will be prepared on the basis of +2/HSC marks and Personal Interview.
