Premier universities such as DU, JNU, and BHU generally demand a 90-95 percentile for competitive courses to get admission. However, percentile is generally considered to be a more accurate measure of a candidate's performance because it takes into account the difficulty of the CUET PG 2026 exam and the number of candidates who took it. 210 – 239 | 90 – 94 |

The CUET PG Percentile shows the percentage of applicants who scored in the same or lower percentile on the test. The topper, or highest scorer, in each session secures the Percentile of 100. The CUET PG percentile scores are calculated using the formula below.
Percentile = (Number of candidates with equal or lower raw score / Total number of candidates) × 100
The calculation of the CUET PG score is based on the following formula:
![]()
For example, let’s say a candidate attempts 80 questions out of 100:
Correct Answers: 70
Incorrect Answers: 10
Unanswered Questions: 20
Using the formula:
Total Marks in CUET PG = (70 × 4) - (10 × 1) = 280 - 10 = 270
So, the candidate’s total score would be 270 out of 300.
The CUET PG 2026 exam is held in multiple shifts with different levels of difficulty, thus the NTA uses a normalisation procedure to make sure it's fair. According to the relative difficulty of each change, the raw scores are adjusted by this CUET normalisation method. CUET PG scores are normalised between shifts by NTA using a statistical formula.
Percentile scores obtained from different shifts are compared and adjusted to ensure consistency.
For example, if Shift 1 is more difficult than Shift 2, candidates from Shift 1 may receive a slight increase in their normalized scores to account for the higher difficulty level.
Your percentile score refers to the percentage of candidates who scored equal to or lower than your score. It is calculated using the formula:
