CUET PG Exam Changes 2026: Updated Exam Pattern, Duration, Mode & Structure
The CUET PG entrance has gone through various changes over the years in terms of exam pattern, structure, syllabus and more. Some of the changes NTA has made to the CUET PG exam in the past few years are the reduction of the CUET PG exam duration to 90 minutes, total number of questions now 75, students being able to choose up to four subjects and many others. The NTA will conduct the CUET PG 2026 in March to offer admission to various postgraduate courses such as MA, MSc, MCom and more.
CUET PG Changes 2026
The National Testing Agency will publish the CUET PG 2026 changes at exams.nta.ac.in. However, students who are appearing for the exam this year, can check the changes made in previous years below.

Most notable changes witnessed in CUET PG exam are the changes in exam structure, decrease in exam duration, number of questions and more. Application fees for CUET PG has also increased by Rs 200 for base papers. The maximum number of papers students can choose in CUET PG is four. Additionally, the South Asian University now accepts CUET PG scores for its postgraduate admissions.
CUET PG Exam Duration
NTA decreased the CUET PG duration to 1 hour 30 minutes for each paper last year. Earlier, the duration for CUET PG used to be 1 hour and 45 minutes for each exam paper.
CUET PG Number of Questions
The number of questions in CUET PG has been reduced to 75 questions. Previously, CUET PG exam consisted of 100 objective type questions.
CUET PG Paper Structure
The CUET PG consists of 75 questions in each section. Earlier, NTA used to conduct CUET PG exam which had 25 questions from Part A, 75 questions from Part B.
CUET PG Subject Selection Limit
Students can only choose upto four subjects in CUET PG exam. The limit was upto five subjects earlier.
CUET PG General Test
NTA has made changes to the CUET PG general test exam. Earlier, the general test consisted of 25 mandatory questions. Now it has been renamed as General Aptitude Test based on general knowledge and mental ability and as only an optional paper.
CUET PG Exam Pattern
Students can choose up to four subjects in CUET PG, which was limited to two subjects earlier.
CUET PG Exam Centres in India
NTA has decreased the number of CUET PG exam centres in India to 285, which was 300 earlier.
NEW CUET PG Participating University
The South Asian University has joined the list of CUET PG universities in 2024. Students can now use their CUET PG scores to apply to South Asian University.

You have not specified which linguistic paper you are talking about. Therefore, I can only provide you the general steps to find out one. Although the CUET pg exams were already conducted in March 2025, the question papers for this year are not available officially yet by NTA. But still if you want to practise i am providing you some tips to practise the latest questions .
You can check YouTube videos of teachers for your linguistic subject, usually they provide detailed solutions for latest previous year questions. Secondly, as of now you can practice from 2024 pyqs at Career360 linguistic question paper and keep checking for 2025 PYQS to get updated on career360 website.
