The CUET percentile is a formula that is used while preparing the results. The National Testing Agency calculates the percentile using a special formula to convert the raw score into a percentile score. Calculation of CUET percentile depends on various factors such as the difficulty level of the exam, the number of candidates who appeared for the examination, and the number of shifts in which the exam will be conducted.

The CUET 2026 exam will be conducted in different shifts. The 200th percentile is equivalent to marks ranging between 93-96. Read the entire article for more information to understand the meaning of 97 percentile.
Before students jump into understanding what their CUET scores and percentiles are, let’s first understand what these are. The CUET marks vs percentile is the difference between what the students' accurate score is, as compared to their performance as compared to the rest.
CUET marks: It is the raw marks students have secured in the exam.
CUET percentile score: shows the proportion of applicants who received a score that was either the same as or lower than yours. Students are advised to note that it is not the same as a percentage. For example, 90 percentile in CUET means that the student has scored more than 90% of all the test takers.

While calculating the CUET marks and percentile, there are a few things that students need to consider:
CUET total marks: The full marks in CUET refer to the total marks for each paper in the exam. In this case, there are a total of 50 questions, each carrying 5 marks, making the total marks 250.
Relative Performance: The number of students who scored lower than you is used to determine percentiles. Therefore, depending on the competition and degree of difficulty that year, even a high score like 200 can indicate different percentiles.
Here is a rough approximation based on past trends, though the precise percentile for a 200 score can differ from year to year and topic to subject:
CUET Score Out of 250 | Estimated Percentile Range |
200 | 93 to 96 percentile |
CUET Score (Out of 250) | Approximate Percentile |
240 to 250 | 99.8 to 100 percentile |
230 to 239 | 99.5 to 99.8 percentile |
220 to 229 | 98.5 to 99.5 percentile |
210 to 219 | 96 to 98.5 percentile |
200 to 209 | 93 to 96 percentile |
190 to 199 | 88 to 93 percentile |
180 to 189 | 82 to 88 percentile |
170 to 179 | 75 to 82 percentile |
160 to 169 | 68 to 75 percentile |
150 to 159 | 60 to 68 percentile |
140 to 149 | 52 to 60 percentile |
130 to 139 | 45 to 52 percentile |
120 to 129 | 38 to 45 percentile |
110 to 119 | 30 to 38 percentile |
100 to 109 | 22 to 30 percentile |
In order to normalise differences in difficulty between shifts and papers, admissions are frequently determined by percentile rather than raw scores at the top universities.
Your chances of getting accepted into top CUET participating universities like Delhi University, BHU, JNU, and others are increased by higher percentiles.
Cutoffs for certain courses and universities might reach the 99+ percentile.
Normalising of Shift and Slot: To maintain equity, NTA follows a normalising procedure.
Subject Popularity: It may be more difficult to rank higher in a subject if more candidates opt for that subject.
Overall Performance: The competition for high percentiles gets more intense if the majority of candidates do well.
With an expected percentile between 97 and 98.5, you're probably in a very good position if your CUET score is 200. However, once the NTA makes the CUET scorecards available, pay attention to the official percentile, which will show your true percentile and normalized score.
