To apply for the UG Psychology Course, the candidates:
Should have studied Class 12 or equivalent education from the state/national education board in India.
From any stream, i.e. arts, science, or commerce, to get admission in psychology courses.
Those who have completed Class 12 from any open school board like NIOS are also eligible.
Note: Colleges/Universities for psychology courses might mention additional eligibility criteria at the time of admission.
To apply for the PG Psychology Course, the candidates:
Those who have completed a bachelor's degree with psychology as a main subject are eligible.
Those appearing for the final year examination of their bachelor's degree are also eligible.
Those who have completed graduation in psychology from distance learning or open university are not eligible.
National Eligibility Test (NET): Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), NET is a nationwide examination for determining eligibility for Assistant Professorship and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges. Many universities offering psychology programmes consider NET scores for admissions to postgraduate courses.
Graduate Aptitude Test in Psychology (GATE): While primarily for admission to postgraduate programmes in engineering and technology, GATE scores are also accepted by some universities offering psychology programmes for admissions to M.Tech in Engineering Psychology or related interdisciplinary courses.
Common University Entrance Test (CUET): CUET is conducted for admission to various undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programmes across central, private and deemed universities in India. Several central universities offering psychology programmes accept CUET scores for admissions.
