JMI Counselling 2026 - Jamia Millia Islamia will start the JMI 2026 counselling in July. The JMI counselling 2026 schedule will be released by the university at jmi.ac.in. The selected candidates must complete their admission formalities on or before the date specified in the JMI 2026 counselling schedule. Selected candidates must bring their JMI admit card as well as attested copies of all required documents.

JMI 2026 counselling will be held separately for each course on different dates at the Jamia Millia Islamia campus. The JMI entrance exam will be held for candidates seeking admission to the university's UG and PG courses. Shortlisted candidates from the examination will be admitted to various engineering, arts, commerce, science, management, and information technology courses.

The list of selected candidates, as well as those on the waiting list, has been posted on the university's official website. Candidates will not be notified separately about JMI counselling. Selected candidates for interviews are displayed in ascending order of their entrance exam roll number based on the Jamia Millia Islamia CUET counselling. The university may also conduct on-the-spot registration for JMI admission from a list of selected and waitlisted candidates. In cases where there are multiple courses/branches, candidates are assigned based on the preferences they indicated on the JMI application form.
To upgrade the course/branch, candidates must fill out a form at the time of JMI admission, indicating whether they want to keep the allotted course/branch or upgrade. The candidate's merit will be used to determine course/branch advancement. Candidates called for JMI 2026 counselling must submit original documents for verification. After verification, the original certificates will be returned.
Candidates must bring the following documents to the JMI 2026 counselling session. Candidates will be disqualified from admission if they fail to bring any of the following documents at the time of Jamia counselling.

The current academic year's students' handbook will be distributed to students by the Heads of Department/Directors of Centres.
During the Jamia Millia Islamia counselling process, the dean of the relevant Faculty/Director of the Centre/Head of the Department will check and verify the official documents submitted by candidates. If any inconsistency is discovered in the documents, the organisation reserves the right to take appropriate administrative/police/criminal action against the candidate.
Candidates who are already enrolled in another programme cannot be admitted to Jamia Millia Islamia (full-time).
Candidates should also obtain an affidavit on Rs.10/- Non-Judicial Stamp Paper, certified by a first-class Magistrate, stating that they will not engage in any type of ragging or undesirable activities, in a format available from the Department/Faculty/Centre concerned.
Jamia accepts reservations for all courses in all categories. The following are the reservation criteria by category:

Note:
Candidates under OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) must submit a certificate issued by a competent authority.
If seats in the categories of Women Applicants and OBC-NCL remain unfilled, they will be transferred to the Muslim Minority category.
Internal Jamia Candidates are those who have passed the JMI qualifying examination. Those who completed their degree via private or distance education will not be considered for relaxation.
There are no seats available in the BDS programme for Kashmiri migrants or candidates from J&K.
There are no seats available for foreign candidates on the B.Arch course.
NCC Cadets and NSS Volunteers will be eligible for a 5% and 2% mark reduction in the aggregate of the qualifying examination, respectively.

The following are the admission restrictions outlined in clause 3 of the JMI:
No student shall be enrolled in two courses offered at regular modes.
Admission can be cancelled at any time if any information furnished by the candidate is found to be false.
After qualifying the diploma in Engineering, a student shall not be admitted to any other course except B.Tech. or any other course of the same faculty.
The admission fee can be paid in cash, online (Debit Card/Credit Card/Netbanking), or by Demand Draft.
No, the JMI 2026 counselling schedule may be different for UG and PG courses.
The Jamia Milia Islamia is expected to start the JMI counselling 2026 in July.
