There are various platforms which make the subject wise preference list for the convenience of the candidates. Candidates may take the help of those lists. Instead one can also make their own preference list based on the subject choices. Here are the steps that one needs to follow while making their own preference list.
Step 1: Make a list of courses in which you want to pursue a UG degree. It is advisable to give priority to the subject rather than the colleges.
Step 2: You can fill as much college as you want. There are no restrictions to fill the number of colleges.
Step 3: Use the ‘Upgrade’ option to upgrade your college preference. It will help you to take admission in a better college. The ‘Upgradation’ option is available till the seats are fulfilled.
The DU preference list is important because of certain criteria.
The more combinations you include, the higher your chance of getting some seats.
By the preference list you can sort your preferred colleges based on the courses.
If you get a seat in Round 1 but have higher-ranked options above it, you can upgrade in Round 2 if those become available.
The system uses your exact preference ordering to decide which seat you get, based purely on score eligibility.
