With the release of Delhi University first seat allocation, the candidates who have been chosen for admission have to "Accept" the assigned seat before the deadline. For seat acceptance, only the first round is taken into account. A candidate only needs to accept one seat offer if they receive multiple offers during the initial round of seat allocation. The candidate will be deemed to have declined the temporarily assigned seat if they do not accept it or remain inactive for the allotted amount of time. The candidate would not be eligible to participate in subsequent DU seat allocation rounds in such a scenario.
The respective college will review the applicant's eligibility and other requirements, including any uploaded documents and other requirements, when the candidate accepts the seat that has been provisionally assigned. The DU college where the seat is assigned will look at the following factors:
Minimum requirements for eligibility
Program-specific requirements for eligibility
Subject mapping: Only CUET syllabus and subjects in which the candidate has passed Class XII will be taken into consideration by Delhi University.
Validation of documents and certificates
India’s first liberal arts college to offer a four-year full time Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science (Liberal Arts) Honours degree
Master's programs in Sustainability Science and Practice; Climate Change Science and Practice; Urban Economic and Infrastructure Development; Human Development Policy and Practice
Candidates will begin the admissions process as soon as the college authorises the assigned seat. The candidate has to pay the entrance fee; only after the fee has been successfully paid will the admissions procedure be finished. Failure to submit the fee within the specified time frame will result in the cancellation of the temporarily assigned seat. These applicants will also not be taken into consideration for subsequent DU seat allocation processes.
The Delhi University will release the DU 2nd seat allotment in August in online mode after the first allotment. If there are any open seats as a result of withdrawals, cancellations, or rejections, the DU second seat allotment is made public. Delhi University has conducted the DU second seat allotment or future seat allotments online based on the number of available seats. The complete list of open seats will be accessible on the official website, admission.uod.ac.in, following the DU second seat allocation.
Candidates who are admitted to the designated seat after being chosen in the DU second allocation may also choose to upgrade their seat in later rounds. Admitted applicants will have the chance to upgrade their seats to the higher choices they have chosen through the DU seat upgrade option. Candidates have to fulfil all admission requirements and "Accept" the upgraded seat after it has been made available.
An applicant may also rearrange the program and college combinations if they choose to "Upgrade."
The candidate's program and college combination from the DU first seat allocation will never be used in a later round.
The present admitted seat will be automatically cancelled if the candidate is given the upgraded seat.
The candidate who was given their first preference will not be able to upgrade their seat.
A candidate should submit a "Freeze" request if they are happy with the seat they were given and wish to keep it. The designated seat will be kept and the candidate will not be considered for further rounds if they are inactive and do not choose to "Upgrade" or "Freeze."
Any of the following factors could result in the cancellation of the seats assigned for DU admissions: If the candidate does not accept the seat within the specified period.
If the admission price is not paid within the allotted time.
The candidate's certificates or documents are deemed to be unacceptable.
If the applicant doesn't fit the requirements for eligibility.
The DU 2026 seat allotment process typically consists of three stages. After a spot round DU, if there are any places left, further rounds are held. The DU seat allotment 2026 is significantly influenced by factors such as preferences, available seats, and the outcomes of the exam.
Candidates can choose to accept or reject their given seat when the DU 2026 seat allocation results are released. It is recommended that those who have been assigned a seat take the actions listed below:
Students who have accepted their assigned seat have to obtain their DU allocation letter 2026 by providing their security pin, roll number, and date of birth.
To complete DU admission 2026, allocation letters, documents, and certifications must be validated at the designated locations.
After DU seat allocation in 2026, the admissions process takes roughly two to three days. Reporting to your designated institution as soon as the DU 2026 allocation list is made public is advised.
Through a medical examination, candidates have to show their medical fitness.
Following approval of admission, the designated college notifies the authorities of the candidate's details, and the candidate receives the admission letter based on these details.
Following the DU CSAS first allocation list, students who did not accept their seat would be given a free exit. However, if the student declines the seat following the second counselling session, a deduction from the refundable deposit will be concluded.
A candidate has to pick one of the choices if they are not given a seat and decide to take part in further rounds of seat allocation (DU). These applicants would also have to specify their updated college preferences for the DU 2026 seat allocation rounds. However, following the second therapy session, this choice will no longer be available.
The institution will determine program-specific merit scores based on eligibility requirements, and candidates must verify their results prior to selecting a program. Three lists—List A, List B1, or List B2—will be used by Delhi University to determine the DU merit list. Although candidates are free to choose as many programmes as they like, it would be better for them to choose as many programmes and programme + college combinations as possible.
