The candidates selected for admission in the Delhi University must 'Accept' the allotted seat before its deadline, once the DU first seat allotment list is released. Only the first round is considered for the seat acceptance. If a candidate receives more than one seat offer during the first round of seat allocation, they just need to accept that one. If the candidate does not accept the seat or is inactive for the specified period of time, it will be considered that they have declined the provisionally allocated seat. In such a case, the applicant would be unable to take part in further rounds of the DU seat allocation.
After the candidate accepts the provisionally assigned seat, the respective college will examine the applicant's eligibility and other requirements, including any uploaded documents and other prerequisites. The following criteria will be examined by the DU college where the seat is allocated:
Minimum eligibility criteria
Program-specific eligibility criteria
Subject mapping: Delhi University will consider only those CUET Syllabus & subjects in which the candidate has passed Class XII.
Documents/Certificates validation
Once the college approves the allotted seat, candidates can proceed with admissions. The candidate will have to pay the admission fee, and the admission process will be completed only after the successful payment of the admission fee. The provisionally allotted seat will be cancelled if the candidate fails to submit the fee within the stipulated time period. Such candidates will not be considered for further DU seat allotment rounds as well.
The Delhi University has released the DU 2nd seat allotment on August 25 in online mode after the first allotment. The DU second seat allotment is released if there are any vacant seats due to rejections, cancellations, and withdrawals. After the DU second seat allotment, the entire list of vacant seats will be visible on the official website, admission.uod.ac.in.
Candidates who get selected in the DU 2nd allotment and who get admission in the allotted seat can also opt for seat upgradation in the subsequent rounds. The DU seat upgradation option will allow admitted candidates to upgrade their seats to the higher preferences they have selected. Once the seat is upgraded, candidates need to 'Accept' the upgraded seat and complete all the admission formalities.
If a candidate opts for 'Upgrade', then he/she can also reorder the program and college combinations.
The program and college combination in which the candidate had taken admission in the DU first seat allotment will never in any subsequent round.
If the upgraded seat is allotted to the candidate, then the current admitted seat will be auto cancelled.
The seat upgrade option will not be available for the candidate who was allocated their first preference.
If a candidate is satisfied with the seat allotted to them and wants to continue with it, then he/she should submit the ‘Freeze’ request. In case a candidate shows inactivity and does not opt for either ‘Upgrade’ or ‘Freeze’ then the allotted seat will be retained and he/she will not be considered for subsequent rounds.
