Along with that, colleges like Thiagarajar College (Madurai), St. Joseph’s College (Trichy), and University College (Thiruvananthapuram) have maintained their spot in top 30 NIRF colleges list 2025. These changes show that high quality higher education is spreading beyond India’s metros. While colleges from metro cities keep on securing their top spots, like Hindu College, Miranda House, ARSD College, the progress from non-metro city colleges are worth mentioning. Reasons for this improvement in non-metro city colleges ranking can be better faculty, governance, or it could be industry engagement.
