The Ministry of Education (MoE) has released the NIRF 2025 rankings on September 4. Candidates can check the NIRF 2025 Ranking list on the page. Higher education institutions all throughout India are ranked and evaluated by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), an initiative of the Indian government. Rankings in fields like engineering, management, and law are provided with the intention of promoting competition and increasing transparency.

The Ministry of Education evaluates institutions annually on a number of factors, such as general performance, research, and teaching. The NIRF ranking provides extensive lists of colleges, universities, and specialty disciplines including engineering, medical, and law, arranged according to type and course offered. This enables students to research and contrast universities in accordance with their requirements and preferences.
Every year, the MoE releases a ranking framework known as the NIRF ranking, which is used to evaluate and assess Indian educational institutions based on a range of different factors. The rankings of specific programs, such as the NIRF top colleges for engineering, architecture, medical, law, research, pharmacy, agriculture, management, and more, are also available to candidates.
The MoE has released the NIRF 2025 ranking in NIRF releasing ceremony. This list will soon be updated in the nirfindia.org website. The IIT Madras topped the overall ranking in this 10th edition of the NIRF ranking.

The NIRF ranking is evaluated based on various parameters. Candidates can check the NIRF parameters below:
Research and Professional Practice (RP): This area of study focuses on an organisation's research initiatives, specifically the quantity and calibre of publications produced. These parameters are determined through the use of metrics for publication score and quality, respectively.
Outreach and Inclusivity (OI): An institution's level of outreach and inclusivity (OI) is an indication of how successfully it integrates other groups. The percentage of students from different states or countries is checked by Regional Diversity. Universities pay attention to financially and socially disadvantaged students as well as students who fall under PwD categories. Women Diversity assesses the proportion of female students.
Outcomes of Graduation (GO): The number of students who successfully complete their degrees is measured by this factor. The Metric for University Examinations assesses students' exam performance. The number of Ph.D. graduates is tracked by the Metric for Number of Ph.D. Students Graduated.
Peer perception (PR): This refers to the academic perceptions that employers and students have of the university. It represents the standing the institution enjoys among other educational institutions and businesses, which influences its standing in both academic and professional circles.
Teaching, Learning & Resources (TLR): This is undoubtedly the NIRF ranking system's most significant criterion. The standard of education that the schools offer is the basis for their evaluation. The number of registered students, including PhD students, and the faculty-to-student ratio—which establishes how much attention each student receives—are some of the determining elements in this criteria. The financial resources that the organisation has available for system improvement are another crucial component.
