In Ghaziabad, KIET University inaugurated the 9th edition of its much-awaited Annual Inter-College Sports Fest, RANN’26, on February 12, scheduled from 12th to 14th February 2026, amidst great enthusiasm and sporting fervour. The three-day mega sporting event has brought together 42 colleges from across the nation, with an impressive participation of nearly 1800 students, marking one of the largest editions in the fest’s history.

The grand inaugural ceremony commenced with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony, symbolising the spirit of unity, positivity, and excellence in sports. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Chief Guest, Mr. Pawan Sehrawat, (Indian Kabaddi Raider Captain), Guest of Honour, Ms. Kiran Baliyan (Shotputter, Asian Games Medalist Rani Laxmi Bai Awardee), and Esteemed Guests, Ms. Ahaana Sharma (International Boxer), Dr. Vikas Dutt (Senior Education Leader Technical Official, 12th South Asian Games), Mr. Naresh (International Taekwondo Player), Mr. Dharmendar Chaudhary (Asian Master Athlete), Mr. Rahul Tyagi (National Shooter), and Mr. Dharmendra Singh (National Boxing Coach).
The dignitaries were joined by Dr Manoj Goel, Executive Director; Dr Adesh Pandey, Director, Academics; and Dr Anurag Gupta, Dean, Student Welfare, along with faculty members, students, and participating teams from KIET University.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Manoj Goel, Executive Director, KIET University, remarked, “RANN’26 is not just a sports fest; it is a celebration of resilience, teamwork, and leadership. Platforms like these shape character, build discipline, and inspire students to strive for excellence both on and off the field.”
In his address, Dr Anurag Gupta, Dean, Student Welfare, said, “The overwhelming participation from 42 colleges and 1800 athletes reflects the growing stature of RANN as a national sporting platform. KIET University believe sports play a pivotal role in holistic development, nurturing not only physical strength but also confidence, camaraderie, and sportsmanship.”
The ceremony further witnessed the much-anticipated Logo Reveal of RANN’26, symbolising renewed energy, ambition, and the competitive spirit of this year’s edition. During the 3-day event, participants will compete across a wide array of sports, including Cricket, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Badminton, Pool, and several other indoor and outdoor events.

The inaugural ceremony concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Dr Pratibha Kumari, Associate Dean, Student Welfare, who expressed gratitude to the distinguished guests, participating institutions, organising committees, and student volunteers for their dedicated efforts in making the event a grand success.
The entire event has been meticulously organised and successfully managed by the Team Dean Student Welfare, whose coordinated efforts ensured a seamless and impactful inauguration.
