The Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities, KIET Deemed to be University, inaugurated National Science Day-2026 with much zeal and intellectual enthusiasm, remembering the great Indian Physicist & Scientist, C. V. Raman, recipient of the Nobel Prize. It was organised along with the Regional Science and Technical Centre (RSTC) Ghaziabad and the Ghaziabad Science Club that instilled a feeling of scientific inquiry and innovation among the youth.
The ceremony commenced with Saraswati Vandana and lamp lighting in the presence of the Chief Guest, Ms. Kumari Alka (Assistant General Manager, NABARD), Mr. S.C. Sharma (Scientific Officer, Ghaziabad), Dr. Vivek Sudarshan (Ghaziabad Science Club), Dr. Manoj Goel (Executive Director) and Dr. Abhinav Juneja (Director-CRPC), Dr. C.M. Batra (Convenor and Head Applied Sciences and Humanities), Dr. Rashid Ali, in addition to the deans and the principals of various schools at KIET.
Dr. C.M Batra highlighted the theme of the event. The Chief Guest during the address emphasized the importance of science in the development of the country, sustainable development, and technology. Mr. S.C. Sharma encouraged curiosity, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving among students to be worthy employees of the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

Dr. Manoj Goel, Executive Director, during his address, welcomed all the dignitaries and the students. Dr. Abhinav Juneja accentuated the role of AI in the development of the nation. Ms. Kumari Alka, Chief Guest of the event, connected the audience with an interactive session on the importance of science and technology. The prototype development and an Ideathon that is expected to transform great ideas into real solutions of real-life problems were one of the most important events of the celebration. There was a great range of interactive events which included a hands-on practice on Drone Technology, a Waste to Science Project Exhibition, a Poster-making competition on My India of 2047, scientific games, a grand science quiz, and a technical ideathon centered on developing digital solutions for Agriculture and Local Transport Systems. The farmers also participated enthusiastically and encouraged the children to stay connected to their land and roots.
The virtual tour of KIET University showed that the university has state of the art laboratories, a research-based ecosystem, and a flourishing academic culture that again promised to make the university build the scientific temperament and innovativeness.
