The National Testing Agency has released a dress code 2026 for students appearing for the Common University Entrance Test. Some students may wonder “Can I wear Jeans in CUET Exam?”, the simple answer is yes, you can. NTA allows simple jeans to be worn at the CUET exam.

However, there is a catch, jeans with too many metallic items or with complicated elements are not allowed at CUET centres. Bottom wears like cargo pants, jeans with heavy metal studs, or multiple zipper pockets— may trigger metal detectors and can lead to additional security frisking or even entry denial. Candidates can wear simple jeans to the CUET exam centre. NTA has not mentioned any explicit ban on jeans. But, complicated button wear like Cargo, Multi-Pocket Jeans, jeans with too many metallic items like zippers, chains may trigger the metal detectors at the security gate, which will definitely alert the security personnel and will lead to thorough frisking, leading to time loss.
