Follow the step-by-step plan given below to prepare for the CUET 2026 Biology exam.
Step 1: Understand the CUET Biology 2026 Syllabus Properly
The first step to start preparing for any exam is to understand its basics, i.e., begin from the syllabus. If candidates go and take a look at the CUET Biology syllabus, they will observe that now 100% of the NCERT Class 12 syllabus is being followed for CUET 2026.
With this in mind and the CUET syllabus for other important exams, we have designed a venn diagram below. It shows how the Class 12 boards syllabus contains important units and topics of all the competitive exams.
Representation boards of how Class 12th syllabus sits with major competitive exams
As students can see, the syllabus for JEE/ NEET covers the full NCERT Class 11 and 12 syllabus, while CUET covers only the NCERT Class 12 syllabus. This means that the students preparing for JEE/ NEET will benefit the most in terms of syllabus unlike students who are only practicing for Class 12 boards.
Taking the syllabus as the first step, we have classified CBSE, ISC and UP board Class 12 syllabus based on the CUET 2026 syllabus.
Students should take a look at the photo given below. All Class 12th Biology topics that have a green tick (✔️) next to them should be studied for CUET 2025 and are considered in the respective board whereas the topics with (❌) next to them are not covered and should be studied by the CUET aspirants.

The above data easily gives an idea of the topics and subtopics that are covered in the CBSE, ISC and UP board exams in comparison to the full NCERT Class 12 syllabus of CUET 2026.
Given below are a few of our observations based on the CUET 2026 Biology syllabus comparison -
Most of the topics are covered in ISC and UP board syllabus. However, CBSE students might have to add a few chapters to their preparation plan such as Reproduction in Organisms, Evolution, Improvement in Food Production, Ecosystem and Environmental Issues.
There is also a good chance that less MCQs will be asked from these chapters in the CUET 2026.
Rest of the chapters are covered in all three boards so the students can prioritise their CUET preparation time accordingly.
The choice of 10 MCQs in all subjects is provided to help avoid confusion due to the inconsistency in syllabus. This way, candidates can attempt maximum MCQs in their exam. However, these choices might also be used in the MCQs from reduced topics, which really leave candidates at a disadvantage, especially CBSE students.
Next, candidates can check the chart below which provides all the topics or chapters that are important from the perspective of the official NTA CUET Biology mock test. We have also taken some input from the previous year CUCET papers.
Some important points to consider -
Despite being completely deleted from CBSE Class 12th syllabus, Reproduction in Organisms seems to be an important chapter.
Other important chapters for CUET Biology exam 2026 are Principles of Inheritance and Variation, Organisms and Populations and Biodiversity and Conservation.
A few chapters such as Sexual Reproduction in Flowering Plants, Evolution and Strategies for Enhancement in Food Production are least important chapters with only 1 MCQ asked. Evidently, it can be left to revise at the end.

Step 2: Chapter-wise Revision
To complete the CUET 2026 preparation on time, candidates should create quick time blocks for all the relevant topics. Here is how candidates can do that.
Chapter-wise Theory
In the short period of a few weeks, candidates cannot revise all the NCERT topics again. So, candidates should make medium sized revision notes from which they can learn and understand quickly without leaving any important topics. For example, take a look at this photo below from chapter 1 of NCERT Class 12th Biology.
Aspirants should think of them like charts with all the topics and subtopics of a chapter compiled in one place. They may help candidates revise:
Topics and sub-topics of all NCERT chapters
Important definitions, points and diagrams
All concepts on which objective questions can be formed, especially MCQs
Steps to solve these MCQs with the help of examples
These mind maps are specifically designed to help solve objective MCQs. So they will be very helpful during these very few weeks left for CUET 2026. If candidates want to access mind maps for all chapters and other subjects, they can purchase the CUET 2026 Biology Practice book by Educart.
Chapter-wise Practice
Candidates must know all the types of MCQs that may appear in the CUET 2026 exam and for that, NTA has released the official CUET mock tests 2026 for several domain and language subjects.
A lot of MCQs in the NTA official Biology mock test were of the same pattern as Class 12th board exams, except they were of a medium level similar to the NCERT Exemplar.
So we spent some time analyzing the number of questions in the NCERT Class 12th Biology Exemplar.

Hello,
Delhi University (DU) offers various engineering courses under its Department of Technology.
Admission to these courses is primarily based on the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main scores. However, some courses may also consider CUET (Common University Entrance Test) scores for admission.
The exact number of seats filled through CUET scores can vary each year and are not publicly disclosed.
Hope it helps !
Admissions for CUET aren't solely based on 2 Non-Med Percentage along with JEE Mains percentile. The eligibility criteria for CUET require students to have scored at least 50% marks in their Class 12th exam for general candidates and 45% for reserved categories.
Additionally, CUET has its own exam pattern, which includes multiple-choice questions divided into three sections:
- Section 1: Language proficiency(English/Hindi/regional languages)
- Section 2: Domain-specific subjects
- Section 3: General Aptitude
It's also important to note that while JEE Mains is a separate entrance exam, some universities may consider both CUET and JEE Mains scores for admission to certain programs. However, the specific admission criteria may vary depending on the university and course.
To confirm the admission criteria for your desired course, I recommend checking the official websites of the participating universities or contacting them directly.
Yes, if the CUET UG application form does not ask for the 10th marksheet upload and only requires a photograph and signature, your application should still be considered valid. Since you are currently appearing for the 12th exams, the system may not require additional documents at this stage. However, double-check the official guidelines or contact CUET support to confirm.
