BHU PET CounsellingBHU PET Counselling 2018 – Banaras Hindu University will organize BHU PET 2018 counselling in July. The counselling of BHU PET 2018 will be held online for each postgraduate programme. Candidates, who have qualified the postgraduate entrance exam will be called for counselling on the basis of provisional merit list at the counselling venue. BHU will be announcing the BHU PET 2018 counselling schedule. The shortlisted candidates will be called for BHU PET counselling 2018 for admissions into the PG programmes as per their rank. Candidates will need to register online for attending the BHU PET counselling. Candidates need to attend offline counselling of BHU PET 2018 as per their scheduled date and time. Candidates are required to carry all important documents for official verification during the time of BHU PET 2018 counselling. BHU PET Counselling 2018: Important points

  • Counselling of BHU PET 2018 will be conducted in order of merit scores of qualified candidates

  • BHU will issue call letters to qualified candidates online for attending counselling. No postal letters for BHU PET counselling will be sent to any candidate

  • Qualified candidates will also be informed through email and SMS on registered email Id and mobile number respectively that was provided during the application filling process

  • Candidates can login their BHU PET 2018 registered account to their BHU PET 2018 call letters

  • Banaras Hindu University will be issuing call letters at least four times the number of seats in each faculty. Candidates need to report to the concerned Faculty Head for BHU PET 2018 counselling

  • Candidates are advised to carry documents in original and photocopies for verification at the counselling venue of BHU PET 2018

BHU PET Counselling 2018: Step-wise process


Step 1: Online Preference Entry The University will be issuing call letters to qualified candidates for BHU PET 2018 counselling process. Candidates are to login in with registered roll number and password to participate in BHU PET counselling 2018. The first step to BHU PET counselling procedure 2018 is mentioned below -

  • Subject - M.A./M. Com/M.Sc.

  • Preference of Location – choice from faculty or department at main campus/ affiliated colleges/RGSC college

  • Seat Allotment Type – candidates can select seat type that is Regular Fee seat or Paid Seat*

*Once the regular seats are full option of paid seats will only be available


Step 2: At Counselling Venue –After the completion of first step of BHU PET 2018 Counselling, the candidates need to attend counselling of BHU PET 2018 at the respective faculty for their choice of programme. The university as per rank and category will be publishing counselling schedule for conducting BHU PET counselling 2018. The candidates must be physically present at the venue for seat allotment and document verification during the counselling of BHU PET 2018. The admissions to PG programme will be completely based on merit list of BHU PET 2018. Each Faculty Head /HOD will be marking attendance sheets at the counselling venue and candidates also need to sign on it to mark their presence.


In case, candidates want to change their choice of location/programme and seat, they can change it at the venue before submitting the forms.


Documents Verification– Once, the seats allotment choice is finalized by the candidates, they need to put their signature on the admission form and submit it along with required documents in original at the verification officer’s desk.

  • Mark sheets of 10th, 12th and Bachelor Degree qualifying examination

  • BHU PET Admit Card

  • Migration Certificate for candidates who have completed Bachelor from university other than BHU

  • Reserved category certificate i.e. OBC/SC/ST for claiming reserved quota seats

  • High School and Intermediate Certificate or equivalent

  • Transfer Certificate

  • Sport Category certificate for claiming Sports Quota Seats

  • Certificate issued by BHU Central Registry mentioning if Son/Daughter of BHU Employee – In service/Reemployed/Retired/Deceased employee of BHU

What is Provisional Admission Letter?


Candidates will be issued an admission letter who are allotted seat as per their choice. The admission letter can be obtained from Admission-In-charge at the venue. The details furnished on the BHU PET 2018 admission letter is mentioned below -

  • Date of counselling

  • Course of admission

  • Admission fee (in case of admission to paid seat it mentions Regular Fee + Paid Seat Fee)

  • Mode of admission fee payment

  • Last date of remitting the admission fee

How to pay BHU PET 2018 admission fee?


Candidates need to pay BHU PET 2018 admission fee as mentioned below -

Online mode – By using Credit Card/Debit Card through online payment gateway on the website

Offline mode – In cash at fee counters of the Counselling venue


Step 3: Day after counselling – Candidates are required to deposit proof of fee payment to the admission officer at counselling venue after submitting admission fee in offline mode

  • Candidates who have paid admissions fee in online mode are not required to submit any proof of fee payment as the payment status will be updated online only

  • Candidates who could not pay the admission fee will not be admitted and the seat allotted to the candidate will be cancelled

  • Moreover, candidates too can cancel their admission to a programme until next round of BHU PET counselling for admission to their choice of programme

  • To cross-check vacant seats of each programme at the Affiliated Colleges/Main campus of the University, a final seat allotment list will be prepared

BHU PET 2018 Counselling: Cut off


The BHU PET cut off 2018 is minimum marks and the last rank at which the admissions will be held for admissions to postgraduate programmes. The candidates meeting the cut off will be called for admissions through BHU PET counselling 2018. Each of the PG programmes in BHU will have their respective cut off rank and cut off marks.
