As the NIRF 2026 rankings are awaited, placement figures comes into focus as several students look to compare the placements of their desired college with the top colleges. The outcome of this can lead into confusion as some colleges have a better placement rate with low NIRF ranking. When it comes to the NIRF rankings, the performance of the institutions are calculated based on various factors such as Teaching, Learning & Resources (TLR), Research Productivity, Impact and IPR (RPII), Graduation Outcome (GO), Outreach and Inclusivity (OI), and Perception (PR).
Hindu College was ranked as no.1 college in NIRF college rankings of previous year. Similarly, Miranda House, Hans Raj, Kirori Mal, and St. Stephen’s College were ranked in top 5 respectively. However, a detailed look into the placement data submitted by the DU colleges in the NIRF 2026 report reveals that SRCC has the highest placement rate in 2026 among the top DU colleges, despite being ranked at 18th place in NIRF rankings of previous year. Shri Ram College of Commerce recorded an average of 59.11% placements for UG programmes and 67.90% for PG programmes over the past three years.
Based on the NIRF 2026 placement report, SRCC has recorded the highest placement rate than other top DU colleges. While SRRC has a placement ratio above 50% over the past three years, many of the colleges secured below 30% placements in the past three years. Apart from SRCC, only Lady Shri Ram, Deshbandhu, Kirori Mal and St. Stephens College had recorded above 30% placements.
