Covid-19 Impact: Pune University Application Form Filling Process Postponed

The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has postponed the application process of Pune University for all the examinations, due to the widespread outbreak of the coronavirus. The order has been taken on the basis of the University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines. As of now, the university and all affiliated colleges of the Pune University have postponed their examination process until the further notice. According to the official notification, SPPU has announced that the application process for all the examinations have been postponed on the basis of the guidelines issued by the UGC regarding the university examinations.

Before filling the application form of Pune University, candidates must make sure to check the eligibility criteria of Pune University 2020. Pune University has set the academics criteria which mentions minimum degree/scores that they must have acquired in their previous qualifying examination. Fulfilling the eligibility criteria of Pune University is very important, failure of which will lead to the cancellation of candidate’s admission, even at the later stages.

The filling process of the application form of Pune University will be entirely online, however, candidates can make the payment for their application form in offline mode as well via bank challan. Aspirants must make sure that they attach all the required documents on their application form of Pune University to avoid the cancellation of their admission. Pune University admission will be conducted by the conducting body for candidates who wish to take admission in various PG courses offered by the university. On applying for the Pune University admission and getting selected will open a gateway to almost 66 PG programmes offered in 52 departments and institutes on and off-campus.

The UGC guidelines suggested that colleges can conduct the exams in July, that too, only for the final year candidates. The intermediate candidates will be promoted on the basis of their internal marks. In case, if the situation does not normalize till then, the university has decided for the final year students that 50% marks can be graded pattern of internal evaluation by the universities and the rest 50% marks can be awarded on the basis of previous semester performance. For current batches, the affiliated colleges can be expected to open in August and the new batch can be expected to start from September. The universities and colleges will function by following social distancing as well as masks will be compulsory.
