For the students belonging to the reserved categories, admissions are exempted by 8% from the minimum percentage required. Note: Students applying for OUAT 2026 through reservation must submit their category certificate at the time of counselling, failing to do so will result in them being considered as general students.

Candidates must be at least 17 years of age by December 31, 2026, to be eligible for undergraduate programs. However, there is no upper age limit for either UG or PG admissions.
Generally, candidates must be permanent residents of Odisha and have passed the 10th standard with Odia as a Modern Indian Language (MIL). Exceptions are made for children of Central/State Government employees serving in Odisha, OUAT employees, or those applying through the ICAR/VCI quota (National Level).
