In her interview to Careers360, Gurpreet shares her experience at GNA University. What was it like to be a part of the university? How did she choose GNA University Phagwara to pursue her BBA course? Careers360: Tell us about your domain and your work profile. At the professional level, did you pursue the same field you were interested in, or did you switch?
Answer: As a BBA Student my domain was Banking and Human Resource, and my work profile is Assistant Manager in a Bank and at the professional level I opted for the same field.
Careers360: Can you briefly tell us about your career path so far?
Answer: Ever since I finished my studies, I have aspired to work in the Banking sector as a professional. In this role, I intend to broaden my expertise while offering solutions to problems encountered frequently. On the contrary, if I talk about Long term, I will contribute significantly to the growth of the industry.
Careers360: Is the Industry work different from what you learnt at the university?
Answer: It is rightly said that the Industry work is totally different from what we learnt at University. At GNA University, we are taught practical aspects by having workshops, Guest lectures and Seminars from Industry Experts. We learn to be more confident, practical and skillful on Industry Skills.
Careers360: How do you think your time in college has added value to your life, both professional and personal?
Answer: Truthfully, I made more progress after each of my semesters. I learned how to think and take decisions in University, and handle different circumstances in a group or as an individual. Moreover, I learned how to manage multiple things while achieving one specific task. Above mentioned all these things add value in my life both personally and professionally.
Careers360: What was your initial thought process when you joined GNA University?
Answer: Coming out from the school and entering a University as a 1st year student of BBA. It was a mixed feeling. I was nervous and anxious at the same time as I was meeting with new people, thinking about where my class is, what would be the nature of my professors, who will be taking up my classes and many more.
Careers360: You must have had a memorable time at your college. Do you miss being a part of it? Share a few good memories.
Answer: In every individual’s life memories play a crucial role and if I pay attention towards my University memories, I can share a lot. For instance, all the Diwali & Baisakhi mela where famous Punjabi Singers Sharry Mann, Ranjit Bawa, Akhil came where we enjoyed a lot with our friends which lead to a beautiful memory of my college time. All the departmental Activities like Jazba-e- Josh, Talent Hunt where from the students of different classes of the GNA Business School participated in various functions like singing, dancing, Add Mad Show, and in Debate Competition. Hence, I personally enjoyed it a lot and created memories for lifetime.
Careers360: Briefly take us through your life at the campus, the activities you used to do and your routine life.
Answer: It is one of the best private universities in North India. My Campus Life was awesome which includes all types of facilities, well maintained food, hostels, sports room, Wi-Fi, well prepared hostels, and a clean campus which is surrounded by fields that have astounding natural beauty. Routine was the same as a typical day of a University student is spent in the classroom or managing events and various clubs. Ideally, about 6 -7 hours a day. Most classes are either lectures, Group discussions, or in labs.
Careers360: Apart from academics, what were the other activities you were involved in and how did it enrich your life?
Answer: Apart from my studies, I like to do sketching and reading. We all know that in our school and college life, studies take most of our time and we need something to de- stress us. So, for me it is sketching portraits and reading new books that can widen my problem-solving possibilities. Moreover, various Interdisciplinary courses from other departments like Photography, Management etc helped me alot and various clubs to name a few like Finance club, Marketing Club and Digital Explorer Club also helps in enriching my life.
Careers360: How did you keep updated with the industrial requirements and what was the role of the institute in it?
Answer: I keep updated with Industrial requirements by reading Business Newspaper, Articles and Books and role of institute in it is that primarily, at the time of designing of syllabus industry expert suggest some new courses which can be introduced to enhance the quality of education, every semester guest lecturers from Industry Speakers and hands on workshops were arranged on newly emerging topics which really helps in meeting the requirements.
Careers360: You are a proud alumnus of this top College. What is the best part of the university from a student's perspective?
Answer: Definitely, I am a proud alumnus of this university, from a student's perspective the best of the institute was my institute itself where I made a lot of memories with my friends. My classroom where the teacher used to teach us, and most importantly the cafeteria where we sat eat lunch and chit chat in free lectures.
Careers360: What is your suggestion/guidance for the BBA aspirants?
Answer: I would say that you will not be disappointed here after taking admission if you are really passionate about doing something in life. Syllabus is also up-to-date and includes almost all the new technologies. Quality of GNA University placement is good and is based on different courses. Moreover, the faculty is also supportive.

If you are asking about enrolling for Engineering course in GNA University, It is a good University. As per the previous year placement records, decent placements are offered to the students. Some of the recruiters of the college are Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, Infosys, TVS, etc.

You can make your choice as per the information below. In my opinion VR Siddhartha is better.
CSE IN GNA: 100% placement guarantee because GNA group has a reputation and good links with the other industries as well. All the industries of GNA group are automated. They are also given placements to their industries. Wherever they give placements, you will never work in a static position. They will give the placements where you can grow your career.
IT IN VR SIDDHARTHA: Placements are good enough for CSE and IT students. Almost 100% placements are achieved. Students get placed in good companies if their knowledge is good enough as per the company's requirements. We can get placed in some good companies like TCS. The highest package offered for a student was 11 Lacs per annum.
