Careers360: Tell us something about the institute; when it was set up, vision and mission.

Answer: GNA University was established in the year 2014, by the Punjab State Legislature under "GNA University Act 2014". It is a private university approved under the Sections 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. The University established under the aegis of S. Amar Singh Educational Charitable Trust is offering multidisciplinary programs in Animation & Multimedia/ Engineering/ Computer Applications/ Hospitality/ Business/ Natural Sciences/ Allied & Health Sciences/ Pharmacy and Physical Education. The lush green Campus of the University is located on the Phagwara Hoshiarpur Road, Phagwara. The campus is spread over 50 acres of land.

Careers360: Tell us something about the admission process?

Answer: Selection of the candidate shall strictly be based on merit basis subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria. Candidates are required to fill the prescribed application form and submit the same at the Admission Cell. The Admission Cell will verify the eligibility and forward the GNA University admission form for further processing to the Registrar's office.

Admission Process (National Student)

• Fill in the Application form if you satisfy the eligibility, then wait for your selection for admission in the programme.

• If you have appeared in a qualifying examination and the result thereof is awaited you can apply provisionally to go through the admission process, subject to fulfillment of the eligibility criteria. If selected, fill the admission application form.

• The instructions in the Application Form are self-explanatory Kindly adhere to them strictly.

• It is mandatory to provide your email address (clearly) and contact number as it will be used by the Admission Office for any further communication.

• University/Board Marks filled in the Application Form will be considered for all procedures related to the admission. Any discrepancy found during the original document verification will result in the cancellation of the admission.

• Submit the filled in the admission application form along with the list of documents with the first semester fee with the Registrar Office.

Careers360: What kind of infrastructure can students expect at the institute? Please elaborate?

The university is in Phagwara- Hoshiarpur Road Phagwara, Punjab. The University offers multi-disciplinary programs, all of which are designed to be industry relevant. GNA University has an ultra-modern infrastructure which consists of well-equipped ICT classrooms, labs, hostels, Cafeteria, and library services as well. The hostel has Wi-Fi, a gym, and a well-equipped mess. The rooms have great interiors and are well managed. All the students living in those rooms can study simultaneously. Classrooms are completely air-conditioned. Labs are well-equipped with all the advanced equipment. Careers360: There is a lot of stress that is being made with regard to interaction with the industry as well as companies that recruit. What are the steps being taken by the institute in this direction?

Answer: The University provides several opportunities for students and is committed to the recruitment and placement of the students. Curriculum is designed in such a manner which provides a student a suitable blend of theory and practical in labs which enhances the skills of the student. Workshops for equipping the students with latest Technology are organized every semester, Guest lectures from industry experts are conducted, personality grooming classes are being arranged for students and making them ready for the Industry.

Careers360: Internships are now mandatory as per AICTE guidelines. Does the institute help students with this? If yes, how?

Answer: Almost Every Technical & Professional Program has internship as a mandatory component to prepare students fit for the Industry. Moreover, Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed with various industries so that students can be Industry- Ready and apply for Internships here.

Careers360: Can you please share details if there is any collaboration with universities abroad?

Answer: GNA University has collaboration with renowned foreign universities like University of Laverne, Wichita state University, Fort Hays State University which enables students to opt for semester-abroad Program. Students are also sent on a 15 days immersion program where they develop insight into the culture and traditions of people residing abroad.

Careers360: Please share placement statistics with information on the average package, highest and lowest package, number of students placed and details of companies that have recruited.

Answer: According to the GNA University placement report the highest salary package offered is Rs 10 lakhs. Companies which recruit GNA University students are Wipro, Infosys, ISRO, Hero Cycles, Mahindra Honda and Banks to be named as Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra and Capital Finance Bank
