EFLU Admission 2019 – English and Foreign Languages University had conducted the entrance exam for admissions in B. A. (Hons.) English and B. A. (Hons) Foreign Languages programmes of EFLU 2019 admission on March 30, 2019. EFLU admission 2019 for B.A Journalism and Mass Communication was conducted through an entrance exam on March 31, 2019. The admission for EFLU 2019 is done on the basis of an online test of 100 marks. EFLU Admission 2019 was conducted for EFLU aspirants who sought admissions into the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in English, foreign languages, and language-related courses. EFLU conducted admissions to courses like B.A./M.A in English, Arabic, French, German, Spanish, Russian and M.A. in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Comparative Literature, and so on. Candidates applying for admission to EFLU 2019 had to compete for 240 seats (UG) and 550 seats (PG) spread across Hyderabad, Shillong, and Lucknow campuses. To be eligible for EFLU 2019 admission, candidates applying for UG courses needed to have cleared 10+2 examination, whereas those applying for PG courses should have held a bachelor’s degree. Candidates applying for EFLU 2019 admission had to fulfil the below mentioned eligibility criteria for the programmes of their choice. Listed below are the eligibility criteria for both UG and PG candidates.
EFLU Eligibility for B.A. Courses
Candidates appearing for admission to EFLU 2019 for B.A courses should have:
Passed in the 10+2/intermediate exam or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% (General/OBC) and 45% (SC/ST).
The aggregate must include the subject of English.
Candidates who are yet to appear for the qualifying exam must pass the exam by the admission time and scored the minimum percentage.
For B.Ed in English, candidates must have scored 50% marks (General/OBC) and 45% (SC/ST) as minimum aggregate in B.A. English or the same percentages for respective categories in M.A. English. Again, candidates yet to sit for the qualifying exam are subject to the aforementioned criteria for such candidates.
EFLU Eligibility for M.A. Courses
Candidates appearing for EFLU admission 2019 for M.A. courses should have:
A bachelor’s degree with 55% (General/OBC) and 50% (SC/ST) as minimum aggregate.
Candidates who still have to appear for the qualifying examination must pass the exam by the time of admission with the minimum aggregate.
For courses in Arabic, French, German, Russian, Hispanic language and literature, candidates must have obtained a bachelor’s degree in the respective language or bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a B1 level proficiency certificate equal to an advanced diploma in that language.
For PGDTE English, candidates must have passed M.A. English/English Literature/TESL/ELT/Linguistics with 55% (General/OBC) and 50% (SC/ST) as minimum aggregate. Candidates yet to appear for the qualifying examination have to refer to aforementioned criteria applicable to such candidates.
For PGDTA, candidates must have scored 55% (General/OBC) and 50% (SC/ST) in M.A. Arabic/Arabic Literature/Teaching of Arabic/Linguistics. Candidates who are appearing for the qualifying exam may go through the aforementioned requirements for such candidates.

EFLU 2019 application form for both UG and PG courses was released in online mode on February 7, 2019. The last date for submission of application form was February 26, 2019. It was mandatory for candidates willing to apply for EFLU 2019 admission to fill the application form. In order to fill the EFLU 2019 application form, candidates had to first register themselves with EFLU with a valid email ID. Upon registration, candidates received a password on their email ID. Candidates were made sure to retain their username and password till the time of admission for further references. Applicants had to enter correct details on the application form of EFLU 2019 and not leave any field blank. Candidates were also required to upload requisite documents to complete their application forms. The mode of application fee for admission to EFLU 2019 was online and could be conducted through net banking/credit/debit card.

The exam centres for EFLU admission test 2019 was located in over 23 cities across India. Candidates had to select EFLU 2019 exam centres of their own choice while filling the application form. EFLU 2019 admission candidates were able to find the exam centre allotted to them on the admit card for EFLU 2019. Candidates were not allowed to file any requests for change in the exam centres allotted. Candidates were made sure to take a note of the fact that the university could cancel any of any exam centres without specifying any reason. In that case, the candidate was allotted the exam centre closest to the one previously selected by him/her on the application form.
Candidates appearing for the admission test were strictly advised to reach the exam centres of EFLU 2019 at least forty minutes before the time exam was scheduled to start. They were made to note that they were not allowed to enter the exam hall even a minute after the commencement of the exam. Possession of mobile phones or tablets in exam centres was strictly prohibited by the university.

EFLU 2019 admit card had been issued by the university on March 6, 2019. Candidates could download the admit card of EFLU 2019 by clicking on the official link and entering the same username and password. Candidates were made sure to remember to download the admit card and take its print out. EFLU 2019 admit card mentioned vital details about the candidate like his/her name, roll number, exam centre, and so on. It was mandatory for candidates to carry their admit card to sit for the entrance test.
The test for admission to EFLU 2019 was a computer-based. As per EFLU 2019 exam pattern, the paper was of 100 marks in total. Certain exams had two sections, namely, objective and descriptive. Candidates in such exams could attempt the paper only in this order within two hours, one hour each for both the parts. A crisp breakdown of exam pattern of EFLU 2019 is given below for all UG and PG courses which the candidates can quickly refer to.
For B.A. (hons.) in English, Arabic, French, German, Japanese, Russian, Spanish and B.ed in English - the question paper will be of objective type and of 100 marks.
For M.A. courses in English, English Literature, Literatures in English, Comparative Literature, Linguistics, English Language Teaching, Hindi, computational linguistics, the paper will be of objective type and 100 questions.
For M.A. courses in Arabic language and literature, French language and literature, German language and literature, Hispanic language and literature, Russian language and literature, there will be three sections - a. Objective type (40 marks) b. Pen and paper (descriptive) - 30 marks c. Oral (30 marks).
For PGDTE in English and PGDTA in Arabic, the paper will be objective type and of 100 marks.
English and Foreign Languages University had released the EFLU 2019 result in the online mode on May 3, 2019. The result of EFLU 2019 was declared in the form of admission list. Candidates taking the test for EFLU admission 2019 could find their names, roll numbers, and marks scored in the result. Those who fulfilled the cut off requirements and were shortlisted by the university for their UG and PG programmes were called for a counselling and interview round on May 27, May 28 and May 29, 2019.
EFLU 2019 cut off specified the minimum marks that candidates must score in EFLU 2019 admission test. Those candidates who matched the cut off for EFLU 2019 were called for a counselling and interview round. The break up of cut off requirements for each category is as follows:

Candidates must note that the aforementioned cutoffs for their respective categories needed to be fulfilled in an objective, descriptive, and oral parts and in the aggregate score as well.
