The highlight of the inaugural session was Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, who spoke extensively on leadership, justice, and global cooperation. Drawing a powerful analogy between nature and governance, she emphasized that leadership must be rooted in fairness, inclusivity, and responsibility. Highlighting this perspective, she stated: “A leader, much like rain that sustains life without discrimination, must safeguard every citizen equally—nurturing, protecting, and uplifting society. This is the true essence of righteous leadership.”

She further pointed out the value of dialogue in resolving global conflicts, adding, “Where there is dialogue, there will always be a solution. Nations that communicate effectively can resolve even the most complex conflicts. Silence creates distance, but dialogue builds understanding and trust. In a world of differences, conversation is the strongest bridge.”

Speaking on India’s global position, she noted, “India today stands as a leader in managing global challenges with resilience. While many nations struggle, India balances responsibility with compassion.” She also highlighted the role of stability in driving national growth, stating, “Peace and stability are the strongest drivers of a nation’s growth. When a country remains steady amidst global uncertainty, it creates space for progress. India’s strength lies in its calm approach even during turbulent times. Growth is not accidental; it is built on a foundation of stability and trust.”

Dr. Muthamizhchelvan C, Vice-Chancellor of SRMIST-KTR, who reflected on the responsibilities of individuals in a rapidly evolving global environment. He mooted, “Global responsibility and ethical awareness define how we respond to a rapidly changing world. The real question is not what changes are happening but how we choose to face them.” Encouraging students to strengthen their communication and practical skills, he further added, “Communication is one of the most powerful skills you can develop. Theoretical knowledge alone will not guide you in the long run. It is practical exposure and real-world experience that truly shape your path. Platforms like MUN refine your voice and strengthen your presence. Your words, when used effectively, become your greatest asset.”

Prof. P. Sree Sudha, Dean of the School of Law, welcomed the gathering and has stated, “In a world facing conflict and resource challenges, the need for balance is critical. Nations that uphold the rule of law and humanity stand as pillars of stability. India exemplifies its commitment by promoting peace and dialogue on global platforms. This platform is essential in cultivating real-world skills among students. It goes beyond simulation—it builds awareness of global dynamics.”

Prof. Vinay Kumar A, Pro Vice-Chancellor (SBL), SRMIST-KTR; along with Dr. Sumana Vedanth, Associate Professor & Faculty Coordinator (Forum Justitia), SRM School of Law, and the student volunteers, further strengthened the contributions of crafting SRM SOLMUN ‘26.

With enthusiastic participation from students across disciplines, SRM SOLMUN’26 sets the stage for dynamic debates, collaborative problem-solving, and policy innovation. This reinforces SRM School of Law’s commitment to nurturing future leaders equipped with knowledge, integrity, and a global perspective.
