Candidates from minority groups are given priority admission to the university. Almost half of the seats available at Jamia Hamdard are earmarked for Indian Muslims. Students should be aware that 50% of seats are filled on the basis of open merit. Reservation information is provided below:

• Each course has one seat dedicated for the children of Jamia Hamdard employees.

• For UG courses, 10% of seats are designated for PWDs, Jamia Hamdard students, Hamdard Public School students, and Rabea Girls School students.

• Management Quota fills a small number of seats in each self-financing programme.

• SC/ST students are entitled for a 5% reduction in qualifying marks and Entrance Test score.

• Distance Learning (DODL) students receive a 4% weightage.

• Physically Handicapped students are given 5% of the available places.

• Except for MBBS and BUMS programmes, two seats are reserved under the Supernumerary Quota for candidates from J&K.
