BA Economics

Candidates’ aggregate marks in the qualifying examination, inclusive of marks obtained in Mathematics.

BA Comparative Literature and History

Candidates will be admitted based on an entrance test.

BA Philosophy

50% weightage to the aggregate percentage secured by candidates in H.S./Equivalent Examination. 2) 50% weightage to marks in the entrance test.

BA Political Science

50% weightage to aggregate marks in the qualifying exam + 50% weightage to marks in the written entrance test

BA Bengali

The basis of admission will be a written entrance test. The question paper will consist of two parts - the first part for 30 marks, and the second part for 100 marks. Candidates’ answers in the second part will be evaluated only if they manage to qualify for the first round. The merit list will take into account marks obtained in the second part only.

BA Sanskrit and Sociology

Candidates’ aggregate marks in the HSC or equivalent examination will be considered for admission.

BA English

The basis of admission will be a written entrance test. The question paper will consist of two parts - the first part for 30 marks, and the second part for 100 marks. Candidates’ answers in the second part will be evaluated only if they manage to qualify for the first round. The merit list will take into account marks obtained in the second part only.

BSc

Admissions will be made solely based on the marks scored in the qualifying examination. Candidates will also be called for interviews for admission to the following courses: Hons. in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Geography, and Geological Sciences.

MA Comparative Literature

For students who have done their hons. In any literature subject, including Comparative literature, the selection will be done solely based on marks scored in the admission test. Such candidates will have to appear for only one paper.

Candidates with hons. In non-literature subjects, students will also be admitted on the basis of marks obtained in the admission test. However, such candidates will have to appear for two papers on General literature. Candidates’ marks in both papers will be considered for admission.

MA Philosophy and Sanskrit

The admissions will be done based on the score in both the honours papers and the admission test, and equal weightage to both components.

MA Film Studies

Candidates who already have a three-year honours degree in Film Studies with at least 50% as aggregate will be admitted directly

MA Bengali and Sociology

Candidates will be admitted solely based on the marks obtained in the honours paper. But candidates who have studied distance or correspondence courses from any recognised university will have to appear for a qualifying test.

MA Education

Candidates will be admitted on the basis of performance in the admission test.

Candidates will be admitted on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance test.

MSc Biotechnology

Candidates’ marks in the entrance examination and viva-voice will be taken into account in the following ratio, respectively, for preparing the merit list - 70:30. Candidates who qualify in the entrance test will be called for the viva.

MSc Instrumentation

Candidates’ marks in the written test and Hons. Papers will be considered in a 60:40 ratio for admission to Jadavpur University.

1. Original certificates (in case of SC/ST/PD/OBC-A/OBC-B category candidates) signed by competent authorities)

2. All original marksheets

3. A hard copy of the online application form.

4. Three passport-sized photographs

5. Online payment receipt downloaded from the SBI server.

6. A certificate in the prescribed format, acting as proof that their B.A/ B.Sc final examination has been completed on or before June 2023

7. Original Madhyamik certificate/Admit card (for age verification).

8. An affidavit that the candidate is not registered in any other day-course anywhere/elsewhere if he/she has completed his/her graduation in 2020.

9. If the provisionally selected candidate is pursuing an MA day-course or its equivalent in another college/university, he/she should sign an affidavit that he/she will deregister from the course.

10. An income certificate of parents or guardians, signed by the employers, for employed candidates

The candidates who are shortlisted for B.Ed. Programme under the deputy category needs to submit the following documents along with the aforementioned -

1. Teachers from secondary/ higher secondary schools affiliated to W.B.B.S.E/ W.B.C.H.S.E must be able to furnish (I) a copy of the appointment letter from the District Inspector of Schools, (II) a No Objection Certificate issued by the Managing Committee of the school, duly countersigned by the District Inspector of Schools. The Managing Committee must mention if the teacher teaches in classes V to XII at the time of interview and admission.

Employed M.Sc. candidates will have to bring the original joining letter, N.O.C. from a competent authority, and salary certificate, along with the aforementioned documents
