Educators spend their careers helping students become better leaders. Chitkara University's Amplify Leadership Series reverses this idea, dedicating three days to helping educators become better leaders themselves. The second edition of the program recently concluded at the University's Punjab campus, and it was well received.

Chitkara University has just finished the second edition of its Amplify Leadership Series. This is a three-day residential program made for school and college educators. It was held at the University's campus in Punjab from 26 to 28 June 2026.
If you work in education, or you dream of becoming an academic leader one day, this is the kind of program worth knowing about. It is not a regular one-day workshop. It is a full residential experience, where educators live on campus for three days and learn together, away from their daily routine.

The first edition of Amplify got a great response. So, it was no surprise that the second edition was even bigger. More than 300 educational leaders took part this time. They included chairpersons, principals, vice principals, academic heads and teachers. They travelled from every corner of India to be there, from Kerala to Kolkata, from Amritsar to Ayodhya, and from Jammu to Jaipur. All of them came together for one shared goal: to rethink what leadership means for the future of education.
"You Know It Has Struck a Chord"
Dr. Madhu Chitkara, President and Co-Founder of Chitkara University, spoke about why this program means so much.
"When a program is asked to return before it has even ended, you know it has struck a chord," she said. She added that Amplify was created to give educators a space to think, question and lead. Seeing leaders from every part of the country come to Chitkara University, and then leave asking when the next edition would happen, shows that the University is building something meaningful.
Dr. Sandhir Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Chitkara University, formally opened the program and spoke about the ever-changing job of a teacher and the kind of leadership skills teachers need today.
The opening ceremony also featured a live performance by the Swastik Band, which set an energetic and joyful mood for the days ahead. From the very first evening, delegates could feel that this was going to be more than just another conference.
At the centre of the Amplify Leadership Series were its masterclasses. These sessions were led by well-known experts in the field. They covered important topics such as:
- Transformational leadership
- Effective communication
- Pedagogical innovation (new ways of teaching)
- Agile education
- Collaboration
- Future-ready teaching practices
These were not one-way lectures. The sessions were designed to be practical and hands-on, so that every educator could take home real ideas and frameworks. The goal was simple: give leaders tools they could actually use back in their own schools and colleges, not just theories to read about. This is often what makes such programs valuable, educators do not just listen to experts, they actually practise new approaches with them, in real time.

Since Amplify is a residential program, the learning did not stop when the sessions ended. The experience continued through the campus and beyond, with several activities designed to build stronger, more well-rounded leaders.
There was the Campus Odyssey, which gave delegates a tour of the University's culture, its innovation ecosystem, and its vision for the future. Then there was Sports Mania at the Sportorium, which reminded everyone that leadership is not just built in classrooms, it is also built through teamwork, resilience and trust on the field.
The cultural side of the program was just as rich. Delegates experienced India's culture through a heritage walk, a traditional fashion show, and a gala dinner. These events also helped them get to know each other outside of work.. Since the delegates came from so many different states, these moments became a true celebration of India's diversity.
The event had a fun side too. Stand-up comedian Rajiv Thakur, well known for his appearances on The Kapil Sharma Show, performed for the delegates one evening. His act was a fun reminder that humour and human connection matter in leadership too, not everything has to be serious all the time.
Behind the scenes, Chitkara University's student volunteers played a big role in making the program run smoothly. They supported the event from start to finish, and delegates had special praise for how professional, warm and committed they were.
In fact, many delegates described these students as true ambassadors of Chitkara University's culture of service and hospitality, the kind of care and warmth the University is already known for. It is a good reminder that a successful large-scale program is never the work of just a few organisers.
Although the second edition of the Amplify Leadership Series ended with a formal closing, there was really only one question on everyone's mind across the campus: when will the third edition happen?
For a program that is still in its very first year, this kind of response says a lot. It shows that it has already made a real impact on the educators. And the good news for those hoping to be part of it next time? Chitkara University has confirmed that more editions of the Amplify Leadership Series are on the way.
For educators across India, programs like Amplify offer something rare: a few days set aside just to pause, learn, and connect with peers who understand the same daily challenges. As schools and colleges keep evolving, such spaces for reflection and growth may only become more important in the years ahead.
