    CUET Normalisation 2026

The CUET normalised marks are calculated based on your CUET raw scores and analysed with how difficult the paper was. Your CUET raw marks are converted into percentiles based on how you performed as compared to other candidates on that specific subject. If your shift was more difficult than others, there is a high chance that your normalised score will increase. Similarly, if you appeared in an easier shift, and many other students scored well, your normalised scores may come down. How is the CUET Normalisation Score Calculated?

NTA uses an equipercentile method for every session across multiple days for the same subject. The normalisation marks in CUET is calculated based on the percentile for each candidate which is calculated using the raw marks of the candidate as compared to the raw marks of others in the same session.

    CUET Normalisation Calculation Formula 2026

There are a few steps where CUET scores can be converted into normalised scores. First, the CUET marks need to be converted to percentile (refer to the table below), then arrange the CUET percentile in the order, raw scores and percentile scores of the raw scores. After that, the normalised score needs to be calculated using interpolation.

    What is CUET Interpolation?

Now for each subject there is a score assigned to each percentile value and each session. The Normalised score, Z, corresponding to a percentile value P.

The percentile scores for the total raw score for all the sessions (Session 1: Day-1 Shift-1, Session-2: Day-1 Shift-2) as calculated in Step-2 above would be merged and shall be called the NTA scores which will then be used for the compilation of results and further processing for deciding the allocation.

Example - Suppose a test was held in 4 sessions of examinees as per details given below:

The distribution of candidates were as follows:

    • Session 1: Day 1, Shift 1

    • Session 2: Day 1, Shift 2

    • Session 3: Day 2, Shift 1

    • Session 4: Day 2, Shift 2
