Offering a platform for budding architects to showcase their creative and technical skills, the Faculty of Architecture & Planning, in association with the Department of Interior Design of the Faculty of Design, organised Young Ideas 2026, the Annual Academic Exhibition at Vadodara-based Parul University. This exhibition provided a fantastic platform for the celebration of creativity and innovation by providing a common platform to students, academicians, and industry people. Through well-curated exhibits, architecture and interior design students exhibited their academic works, design explorations, and creative solutions.
To go along with the exhibition, there were also some expert sessions that were conducted by well-known architects and design experts, providing the students with useful information regarding the reality of the practice of architecture as well as the future of the design industry. Ar. Snehal Shah, founder of Snehal Shah Architect (SSA), conducted the session "Disciplines and Lessons in Practice." Ar. Charanjit Singh Shah, founder and principal architect of Creative Group, gave the session "Sustainability and Beyond" with a focus on the changing role of sustainable design in the present day. Ar. Siddharth Majumdar, associate director at ARCOP Associates Pvt. Ltd. New Delhi, exchanged his views with the participants on “Reality of Design Failures, Successes & Sustainable Futures” The expert sessions concluded with Ar. Yatin Pandya, founder of Footprints E.A.R.T.H., architect, author, researcher, and educator giving a very interesting session on "Spatial Narratives: Conception vs Perception."

The exhibition reflected the excellence of the Parul Institute of Architecture and Research (PIAR) in academics and research with a display of projects in Architecture, Interior Design, Landscape and Urban Planning which dealt with current issues of environment, society, and cities. It excelled in three main categories and held student’s projects under the category like Climate Resilience & Ecological Sustainability that highlighted the issues of disaster resilient architecture and sustainable landscape design. Urban Rejuvenation & Civic Infrastructure area reimagined the Vadodara Central Jail as vibrant public space, addressing adaptive reuse and planning for civic infrastructures. Cultural Heritage & Evocative Spatial Design included topics like the preserving textile museum and peace memorial, paying tribute to the cultural heritage and the craftsmanship of the region.
