Osmania University has decided to conduct the degree examinations for undergraduate programmes in the second week of June. The university will release the official notification in the coming one or two days.
“The postgraduate programme examination is likely to commence in the month of July as the OU administration is working on finalizing the exam dates,” said Dr. Sriram Venkatesh, controller of examinations, Osmania University.
“If the need arises, we will increase the number of centers and ensure that in the examination halls more physical distance is practiced,” said Dr Venkatesh
Dr. Ch. Gopal Reddy, registrar, OU said “We will not conduct online exams, since a large population of students belong to rural areas. It will not be easy for them to access the internet or infrastructure to appear for online examinations. This is a tentative plan, but we are preparing to hold the semester exams soon,” reports Deccan Chronicle.
The university is looking ahead to go with the plan of conducting entrance examinations on sundays also, in order to compensate for the loss of days due to lockdown.
The examination schedule will depend on the decision of the government in the view of COVID-19 outbreak.
The students have to pay the examination fee and fill the examination form by June 10. They will also be allowed to complete the same till June 16, with a late fee of Rs 200. The exam fee is exempted for blind, physically disabled and deaf and dumb students.
The summer vacations have also been advanced for PG programmes such as M.Sc, M.Com, MSW, MBA, M.PEd, MCJ, MA and M.Lib.Sc from May 11 to June 7. The vacations were earlier scheduled for June 1 to June 30.
