Addition of 30 New Programmes - The university has introduced 30 new courses in various departments. These programmes include:
Sciences - MSc in Biotechnology, Biosciences, Biophysics, and Botany.
Humanities - BA (Hons) in Japanese, German, and Uzbek Studies.
Technology & Engineering - BTech in Robotics & Artificial Intelligence, and MTech in Material Science & Technology
Professional & Vocational - Master of Hotel Management, BVoc in Molecular Diagnostics, and new LLM specialisations in Corporate, Criminal, and Personal Law.
No. of Test Centres Increased - The total no. of JMI exam centres has been increased from 8 to 11. The newly added test centres are:

Implementation of FYUP & Multiple Entry Option - The university has adopted the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) with a multiple entry and exit option. Students can now opt to exit from a particular programme at defined stages with a diploma or a certificate and also opt for re-entry to complete their degree.
Fee Structure - There is no change in tuition fees for any regular course students in 2026-27 session. However, the university has a new region-wise differential fee structure for international students. This new system reduces the fees for students from SAARC, West Africa, Africa, and Latin American countries.
