Presidency University successfully hosted InnovateX 4.0, its flagship annual technology festival, marking its biggest edition to date. The event at Presidency University Bangalore drew over 4,500 participants, bringing together more than 1,200 teams from across India, along with a handful of international entries.
Unlike a typical college fest, InnovateX 4.0 went beyond quick coding sessions and competitions. It created an environment that felt closer to a real-world innovation ecosystem. With hackathons, startup pitch sessions, research showcases, and interactive build zones, the focus was clear: encourage students, researchers, and industry professionals to work on meaningful, real-world problems rather than just compete for prizes.
This year saw a significant scale-up, with over 105 events conducted across multiple domains. Presidency University strengthened its collaboration with industry partners and introduced dedicated spaces for robotics, drones and hardware experimentation. Hybrid participation options also allowed international teams to take part without being physically present on campus.
Participants came from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Maharashtra and several other states, with many representing engineering colleges and active student innovation groups. The introduction of global hackathons and pitchathons marked a notable step towards international engagement enabled through online and hybrid formats.

Several events stood out for their popularity and energy. High-intensity 24-hour hackathons like BuildWithAI and Mini Smart India Hackathon (Mini-SIH 2026) kept teams fully engaged. Robotics competitions such as Robo War and Robo Sumo drew lively crowds, while events like the Drone Soccer League, Drone Night and RC Rally added variety and excitement. Attendees also explored data challenges, AItronix, Capture The Flag contests, tech escape rooms and open hands-on experimentation zones.
Many projects focused on emerging and impactful fields, including artificial intelligence, drones, quantum technology, and neuroscience. Teams worked on practical challenges in healthcare, sustainability, smart cities and automation, using real industry problem statements and datasets. Mentorship from industry experts helped ensure that solutions had potential beyond the event itself.
Hackathons remained the core of the festival, challenging teams to transform ideas into working prototypes within a single day. Projects were evaluated by judges from industry, startups and academia, based on originality, technical strength, real-world relevance and scalability.
Industry participation was more prominent this year, with companies contributing through keynote talks, mentorship sessions and interactive discussions. These sessions gave students valuable insights into current tools, workflows and expectations in professional environments.
With its expanded scale, stronger industry integration, and focus on practical innovation, InnovateX 4.0 strengthened Presidency University's resolve to give the student community a better and stronger future in technology and research.
