Established in 2024, the University of Southampton is the Indian campus of the University of Southampton, Southampton. Choosing the right university was an important decision. I am Bhavna Sharma, currently working as the Head of Member Retention and Corporate Accounts at Quintessentially India. Looking back, my time at the University of Southampton played a crucial role in shaping my career.

When I was considering my options for a master’s in luxury brand management, the University of Southampton stood out. At the time, only a handful of UK universities offered this course, and Southampton was the only Russell Group university among them. However, what truly sealed the deal for me was my interaction with the university representatives. Unlike a typical recruitment process, my discussions with them felt personalised. They were genuinely interested in my aspirations, my career goals, and what I aimed to achieve from the course.

The idea of stepping into a completely new environment, away from home, seemed daunting. But once I arrived, everything felt seamless. The university provided a supportive ecosystem, making my transition smooth and comfortable.

Pursuing an MA in Luxury Brand Management was an enriching experience. One of the highlights was a luxury study trip to London. As part of this, we stayed at The Ritz, visited several renowned British luxury brands, and worked on live consultancy projects with them. This hands-on experience added immense value to my academic learning and helped me develop industry-relevant skills. Beyond the coursework, the university also provided extensive career support. I attended multiple networking events, CV-building workshops, and job application guidance sessions. These resources helped me build my CV to international standards and prepare for global job opportunities.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my journey was the people I met. Southampton introduced me to individuals from different cultures and backgrounds. Engaging with them helped me develop a global perspective, and to this day, my friends from the university continue to inspire me with their creativity and warmth.

If I had to sum up my time at the University of Southampton in three words, they would be: Unforgettable, life-changing, and exceptional. The experiences I gained, both academically and personally, have shaped me into the professional I am today.

The University of Southampton Delhi offers an MSc in International Management which gives students practical insight and hands-on experience into becoming a successful global business manager. It enhances knowledge of how businesses operate and are managed and encourages students to explore different topics to help discover what they want to specialise in. It’s open to graduates from different academic and professional backgrounds.

One-year postgraduate Master’s programmes are taught in English, and the content is equivalent to programmes delivered to other University of Southampton students. The globally respected nature of UK-awarded degrees means that the one-year UK Master’s is equivalent to a two-year Master’s degree awarded from a non-UK source.
